AUBERRY – As you likely received the emergency notice on your phone, the Creek Fire has forced an evacuation order to the entire town of Auberry, extending from the San Joaquin River on Powerhouse Rd. to Auberry Rd. in both directions out to Hwy. 168. This includes the points next to Prather & next to Cressman’s General Store.
Attached is general map for your reference. I am working to try and get a much higher resolution map created that shows all evacuation areas in greater detail. If and when I get it, I will send it to you.
As for the message you received on your cell phone, this was sent out via our Everbridge software program. People did not need to be registered to receive it, they just needed to be within the radius of the cell phone towers for which we designed the message to transmit. We still want to strongly encourage people (with your help) to self-register for Everbridge so we can directly send messages to their mobile devices through call, text and email.
