Attempted Murder Suspect in Custody Following Stabbing

OAKHURST — On Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, shortly after 6 p.m., the Madera County Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call for service for a reported stabbing in the 40000 block of Meadow Vista Drive in Oakhurst.

MCSO Deputies Silva, Graves and Corporal Roth arrived on scene and discovered an adult male victim who had sustained stab wounds to his back. He was stabilized until EMS arrived on scene to transport him to a regional hospital for treatment of his injuries, which did not appear to be life-threatening.

A suspect, who fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival, was identified by witnesses at the scene as Ronnie Webb. A short time later Ronald Webb, a 34-year-old Oakhurst resident, was located and taken into custody by MCSO deputies. He was transported and booked into the Madera County Jail on felony charges of attempted murder.

Sheriff Tyson Pogue states, “The deputies’ swift response to this incident resulted in prompt medical aid to the victim, and the positive identification and arrest of the suspect. This is another example of our dedicated patrol deputies bringing successful resolution to a dynamic situation.”

Though the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this case are ongoing, deputies have determined this was not a random act of violence, but rather an isolated incident.
