No. The TSA does not require anyone under the age of 18 to provide identification when traveling with a companion within the United States. However, the companion will need a form of federally accepted identification (REAL ID, U.S. Passport, U.S. Passport Card, DHS Trusted Traveler Card, etc.).
Which documents will I need to get a REAL ID?
You will need one original or certified proof of identity and two different printed proofs of California residency. Follow the three simple steps below and visit dmv.ca.gov/realid to start your REAL ID application and view a complete list of acceptable documents:
