ARTober “Chalk Out” Sidewalk Chalk Festival

OAKHURST – Summer may have ended, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop.

With the changing leaves and cool weather approaching, there’s no better way to get out and enjoy fall than by participating in and attending the ARTober “Chalk Out” event held Sunday, Oct. 29 from 11:30a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sierra Star parking lot on Road 426 across from Sierra Tel.

The ARTober “Chalk Out” event is a sidewalk chalk art festival featuring artists of all ages and talents. There will live music, food vendors, and prizes for different age categories along with Best of Show and People’s Choice ribbons. Art areas are 4’ x 4’, chalk is provided and there is no charge to create a masterpiece.

“Jump in and be a part of it and let your artistic expression flow,” says Rhonda Salisbury, Visit Yosemite Madera County. “This is all about having a good time for professionals and amateurs and creating some fun and colorful art to share with Oakhurst.”

The “Chalk Out” is part of the month of ARTober in Oakhurst dedicated to celebrating arts and art culture. ARTober is designed to encourage people to explore and appreciate the arts in Oakhurst, a vibrant city of arts and among the largest per capita artist communities in California, according to the visitors bureau.
