Arson Treatment Program Announced In Oakhurst

District_Attorneys_Office_Logo.JPGMADERA – District Attorney David Linn announced today the opening of a first offender arson treatment program in Oakhurst.

Linn and other officials will provide more information during a news conference on Thursday, Feb. 25, at the mountain area District Attorney’s Office in Oakhurst.

On that date, D.A. Linn, Jolinda Thomas, Cal-Fire Battalion Chief Bernie Quinn, and Supervisor Tom Wheeler will discuss and officially announce the opening of The District Attorney, Cal-Fire, Cornerstone First Offender Arson Treatment Program.

According to Linn, the program will serve to treat previously convicted youth offenders, four of whom will start attending the program on Mar. 1.

“It is designed to be a regional program and serve as an asset to central California law enforcement,” said Linn. “One of the goals of the program will be to provide treatment to teenagers who their families believe may be at risk of becoming fire starters.”
