Arrest Made In Bass Lake Home Invasion And Assault

BASS LAKE — The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has one man in custody in connection with a home invasion and assault in Bass Lake Annex on Saturday night.

Sheriff Jay Varney announced today that one of the suspects has been arrested.

Alvin McDonald III, 18, of North Fork, was arrested shortly before 11 a.m. this morning.

Sheriff’s personnel are continuing the search for the second suspect, who has been identified as 23-year-old Ray Coleman of North Fork.

The 77-year-old female victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.

McDonald was arrested for attempted murder, robbery, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon-firearm, elder abuse, conspiracy, and using a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The Sheriff’s Office says Coleman will be arrested for the same charges.
