Another Fire Near The Top Of Road 425B

Aug 17 425BOAKHURST – A full wildland dispatch was called up for another vegetation fire today near the top of Deadwood, about one-half mile down Road 425B.

A call came in just before 4 p.m. about a fire burning approximately 100-yards downslope from the scene of a fire that burned last Thursday.

The first engine on scene reported the fire at 100 x 100 feet, burning just below the road in grass and brush. Firefighters stopped the forward progress and had the fire contained at just over one-quarter acre, within thirty minutes of dispatch.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and Road 425B will remain closed in the fire area until investigators complete their work.

The estimated time to reopen will be after 6 p.m. this evening.

Madera County Fire Engines 12 and 16, along with Water Tender 16, Cal Fire Engines 3355 and 4260, and one crew from Mt. Bullion are currently at scene. All other resources were called off.
