COARSEGOLD — An overturned vehicle stopped traffic in both directions just south of Mecca Lane this afternoon.
Just after 2:30 p.m., Madera resident Audelina Molina, 53, was southbound in a 2012 Toyota Camry, just after getting off work at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino.
For unknown reasons, she steered her vehicle to the right, where it ran up a steep embankment and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels in the southbound lane.
Traffic was blocked in both directions for over 30 minutes before the vehicle could be pushed out of the roadway.
Molina suffered lacerations to her face and was transported by ground ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center.
There were no passengers in the Toyota and no other vehicles were involved.
According to CHP at the scene, the driver was under suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs/alcohol. An update from CHP at 10 p.m. reveals that she was placed under arrest for DUI drugs, and released to the custody of the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The roadway was open in both directions as of 3 p.m. and traffic was still moving slowly, with emergency vehicles on scene, at 3:30 p.m.
