NORTH FORK — Recently, Chel Stith accepted a beautiful painting which she won in a drawing at the North Fork Christmas Bazaar on Dec. 12, 2021. The painting of the Ross Cabin located on the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway, Sierra National Forest, was painted by Mary Beth Harrison, and given to the North Fork History Group to raise funds for its efforts to “gather, preserve and share the history of a community.”

The North Fork History Group is a local non-profit that takes on local projects related to the history of the North Fork area. Harrison, a retired high school teacher for Yosemite Unified School District in Oakhurst began painting 10 years ago. Her paintings have been greatly appreciated and purchased by many local residents.

Congratulations Chel! And thanks to our community for helping raise funds for the North Fork History Group to continue its community efforts to share our local history!
