A 7-Year-Old Girl Killed In A Boating Accident At Bass Lake

BASS LAKE – A 7-year-old child is dead and a 32-year-old man is hospitalized after a boating accident today at Bass Lake.

At about 3:08 p.m., the Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service in the area of The Pines Resort marina regarding a boating accident on the lake. Deputies responded along with EMS and located two victims, ages 32 and 7, in need of medical attention after being struck by a boat.

The 32-year-old male was transported to a regional hospital via ground ambulance. The 7-year-old female victim was transported to the landing zone on Cowboy Trail and airlifted to Valley Children’s Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
