AHWAHNEE — Family, friends and members of Soroptimist International of the Sierras attended the 51st installation of officers on Sunday, June 23 with a ‘Jockey and Juleps/Kentucky Derby’ theme at River Creek Golf Course.
Soroptimist Sierra Pacific Region, District Three Director Janie Hokanson with SI Clovis explained the duties of each officer and talked about the values that Soroptimist members strive to achieve.

The club theme this year will be “Lead the Way… Volunteer” and they did — inducting new club member Judith Stafford at the installation.
Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization working to improve the lives of
women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
Members of the community are invited to join this local women’s volunteer membership organization and service club by contacting President Joelle or Membership Chair Cass Adelsbach.
The group meets monthly and holds several events each year for the community including Live Your Dream College Scholarship Awards and Dream It, Be It conference for girls.
