OAKHURST – Do you know a group of crabs is called a cast? It’s true. Now, it’s time to cast your eyes toward one of the best dinner events the area has to offer, as the annual Rotary Club of Oakurst Sierra Crab Feed returns to town on Saturday, Feb. 4. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Ticket to the big crab feed at the Oakhurst Community Center are $45 each, for a meal that includes bread, salad, pasta and all-you-can-eat crab. All proceeds from the fundraiser are donated locally toward scholarships and community projects.
“The community comes together for fun, fellowship and fabulous auction and raffle items,” say organizers of the event, “so bring your bib, your drawn butter and your appetite and make plans to join us!”
Rotary’s Crab Feed typically serves about 1,600 lbs. of sweet, west coast Dungeness crab, and the high-decibel evening usually raises about $15,000.
