BASS LAKE—Miller’s Landing Resort in Bass Lake serves as the setting for the 30th Annual Bass Lake Antique & Classic Boat Show. The event, the first since 2019, takes place next Saturday, May 14, from 9 am to 3 pm. Open to the public, the event is free. COVID-19 caused the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 events, and this year presenters have streamlined the components a bit, according to Bruce Alameida, president of Bass Lake Lions Club.
The Bass Lake Lions Club has been involved since the event’s founding and continues to support it by advertising it and serving coffee for the skippers on Saturday morning at Miller’s Landing. Members will man a table offering visitors brochures on the boats, information on raffle prizes and silent auctions.
Over 30 Classic Boats Featured
The show features over 30 wooden and classic boats on display and competing for the best-in-show. In addition to classic watercraft, you can enjoy music, food, fun and silent and live auctions. Among the giveaways are three vacation stays, including a seven-day stay at a location in Baja California, Mexico. Other prizes include a detailed model wooden boat and a mounted bass.
Boat owners check into cabins at Miller’s Landing Resort and The Pines Resort on May 13, with a barbeque that evening at Miller’s Landing. The following day boats will be available for viewing at Miller’s from 9 am to 3 pm. Later Saturday evening a dinner takes place at Ducey’s on the Lake, where trophies will be awarded to winners of various contests, such as People’s Choice and Skipper’s Choice. Following breakfast the next morning, participants depart for home.
Attendees can purchase raffle tickets at $5 each or five for $20.
No minimum bid has been set for silent auction items.
Bi-Plane Flyover Saturday Morning
Saturday at 10:45 am, weather permitting, there will be a bi-plane flyover.
The show combines the efforts of the Southern California and Northern California Chapters of the Antique and Classic Boat Society. Their collective mission connects people with a love of classic boats with events, information and expertise, as well as those with a passion for the subject.
What could be better? Sunny skies over Bass Lake, the awesome food and friendly staff of Miller’s Landing and the chance to see antique and classic boats up close, with the chance to win great prizes.
Proceeds benefit Bass Lake Lions and go to support their charitable endeavors.
