2nd Annual Yosemite Peace Symposium Coming to Bass Lake

BASS LAKE — This year, the 2nd Annual Yosemite Peace Symposium will be meeting at the Pines Resort on the shores of Bass Lake, just a short drive from the southern gate of Yosemite National Park, one of the most peaceful places on earth.

The symposium will be held March 20 and 21, 2020.

Opening keynote speaker will be Andrea Fono, whose passion for life is expressed through laughter and paintings that are collected around the world. Her art is an explanation of what “love looks like.”

In 2008, Andrea funded Global Coloring: Painting for Peace in which more than 1,200 people from Europe, Africa and Ecuador participated in a community art celebration.

Andrea and her husband Frank, a native Fijian, have co-founded the Fiji Reads Project, contributing art supplies and thousands of children’s books to schools in Fiji. Her joy is mentoring artists’ hearts. A television segment she produced on inspiration was nominated for an Emmy Award.

Andrea will be speaking on Friday, March 20, from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m.
