2021 Sierra Tel Directory Focuses on the History of Sierra Telephone

OAKHURST – Sierra Tel, serving both Madera County Mountain Communities and Mariposa County, shared that its 2021 telephone directory is in celebration of the 125th Anniversary of Sierra Telephone, the main building block of the Sierra Tel Family.

The 360 page directory tells the story of the beginnings of the company many years ago with the assistance of the local residents.

Many longtime Mariposa community members will recognize the names and locations of Sierra Telephone’s early beginnings, and they hope all of their customers enjoy reading some of their history.

Sierra Tel hopes that all of their customers and community members enjoy the book and take a moment to reflect on what they are thankful for during this Holiday Season and all through the year.

The new directory includes business and residential phone numbers for Oakhurst, Ahwahnee, Bass Lake, Fish Camp, Yosemite, Coarsegold, Raymond, North Fork, Mariposa, Catheys Valley, Coulterville, Hornitos, Mt. Bullion and Midpines.

The directory also includes useful information about government representatives, emergency preparedness and emergency numbers, senior services, caller ID blocking, Sierra Tel customer services, schools, community information and a calendar of events.

Over 19,000 copies of the directory will be distributed through the mail starting approximately January 2 and additional copies will be available at Sierra Tel offices in mid-February.
