YUSD Superintendent Greenberg On Paid Leave

OAKHURST — As of Friday, Feb. 9, Yosemite Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Cecelia Lynn Greenberg is on paid administrative leave from YUSD, according to a statement from the Board of Trustees.

“All school business will continue and YUSD staff will be working together with Madera County Superintendent of Schools to assist with daily operations. Fred Cogan, Administrator on Special Assignment, will continue on until further notice.

“In light of these recent events, the anticipated action of district cuts will not be made at the regularly scheduled Feb. 12 Board Meeting. We do anticipate additional Special Board Meetings in February to allow the board time to completely review all relevant information prior to any and all board action.”

Greenberg officially took the position effective July 1, 2017, according to a press released issued by the District last May, in which then-Board President Christine Wilder said the newly-contracted South Carolina native was “already engaged in working with YUSD leadership to ensure a smooth and productive transition period.”

According to a copy of her contract, Greenberg’s annual base salary is $179,212.
