Yosemite Unified: Special Meeting To Select New Trustee

OAKHURST — A special meeting of the Yosemite Unified School District Board of Trustees will convene on Monday, Jan. 22, in the district board room, starting at 6:30 p.m. The board room is located at 50200 Road 427.

Candidates from Area 4 will be interviewed by the Board for the Trustee position vacated by Joe Smith. Applications for the position were turned in by 4 p.m. on Jan. 18 and, according to District Superintendent Cecelia Greenberg, four people applied. The superintendent said it was not known if all four of the applicants live in Area 4, which is a requirement for the position.

Following the interviews on Monday night, public comment will be heard before a discussion of the candidates and the selection of one person to fill the opening. According to an Agenda provided by the district (below), the individual selected as interim Trustee Area 4 will be sworn in, to serve until a permanent Trustee is chosen in the November elections.

Also on the Agenda is a presentation about the Brown Act, public comment regarding closed session items, and a closed session. The Board will then reconvene to an open session and report on the closed session.

After the meeting Jan. 22, the next regular meeting of the YUSD Board of Trustees is Monday, Feb. 12.
