YHS Badgers Baseball Off To A Swell Start

OAKHURST — Badgers baseball players are already showing off some talent and teamwork, as Yosemite High’s Varsity took the win over Roosevelt High on Friday, Mar. 10 at home, with a score of 22-7.

JV came out on top as well, with a big margin at 23-2.

Chris Ward, Frankie Lemos, Ty Peterson, Tyler Matyshock, Evan Prater, Tanner Bonillas, and Austen Burgeno all got base hits. Austen and Frankie Lemos got doubles. Fans got to see some great pitching by Tyler Matyshock and defensive plays by Ty Peterson.

Tonight’s game will be played at Fresno Christian High School.

The next home game is on Thursday, Mar. 23, vs. Sierra High. Both Varsity and JV start at 4 p.m. at Yosemite High School.

Shout out to coaches JD Burnett, Clyde Derrickson, Bill Stolp and Bob Seibenberg for Varsity, and Eric McLane for JV.
