OAKHURST — A single vehicle rollover blocked the southbound lane of Highway 41 for over an hour this morning and sent one woman to the hospital.
Just after 10 a.m. a 74-year-old Oakhurst woman was southbound near Bay Leaf Lane in a 2005 Ford Escape. She told the investigating CHP officer that she hit something in the road and lost control of the vehicle.
The Ford left the roadway and drove up the steep embankment, causing it to flip over and roll several times, coming to rest on the passenger side in the southbound lane.
The driver was extricated from the wrecked vehicle by Sierra Ambulance personnel and transported to Kaiser Hospital in Fresno with minor injuries and complaints of pain.
There were no other occupants in the SUV and no other vehicles were involved.
One lane traffic was put in place for over an hour as the scene was cleared. The accident remains under investigation.
