What’s Happening At The Pines? Jazz Is Back On Bass Lake

Submitted by The Pines Resort —

BASS LAKE — It’s been just three weeks since over 500 local residents and visitors gathered in the Pines Village to celebrate Easter weekend with their families. For the first time since the change of the ownership that occurred in 2010, The Pines Resort organized a community Easter Egg Hunt in addition to their annual Easter Sunday Champagne Brunch. This year, more than 200 children, from babies to tweens, were on the hunt for colorful eggs. Hidden among them were golden eggs that could be redeemed for Easter baskets filled with toys, candies, and other goodies. Families were able to participate as well, by taking part in multiple games, having their photo taken with the Easter Bunny or Little Bo Peep, and enjoying spring crafts.

The Pines Resort announced earlier this year that Amy Hamley-Sanders accepted the position of Event Coordinator, in addition to continuing to oversee The Pines Bar operation. She has been with The Pines since 1998, joining their forces full-time beginning in 2006, after finishing her education at Fresno State. In accepting her new position, Amy stated “I love Bass Lake and all of the surrounding mountain communities. I appreciate being able to enjoy outdoor activities year round and I hope that all of the events we are bringing to Bass Lake will encourage families to come out and reconnect with the great outdoors.”

Now, with the lake levels rising daily, The Pines Resort is gearing up for summer. To start the season, the beloved Pines Village Craft Fair is back. The first event is planned for Mother’s Day weekend, Friday through Sunday, May 6 – 8. This is a great occasion for local artisans to display their work, as well as an opportunity for locals and visitors alike to shop for unique gifts and crafty home decor. Those interested in becoming vendors should contact Amy for more information. This will be followed by more events in June, including Father’s Day weekend, as well as events in August, Halloween festivities in October, and Thanksgiving festivities in November.

Local residents will be pleased to hear that Jazz on the Lake will be coming back to Bass Lake on the first and third Friday of June, July, and August, with a kick-off concert scheduled for Friday May 27. This event can be enjoyed by all, from those listening to the music from their rental cabins, to those dancing on the Gazebo Deck, to those anchored near the stage on their private boats. The series will conclude on Sept. 2.

While the process of selecting bands for the event is still underway, plans are in the works to make this year’s event about more than just jazz, with groups catering to a variety of other musical tastes. Bands and details will be announced on The Pines Resort website and Facebook page as they become available. General admittance entry fees will be nominal and VIP tables will also be offered, for those seeking a premium experience and guaranteed seating. Tickets will be available online for advanced purchase, as well as at the gate. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase from Ducey’s Bar & Grill.

Of course, there are many more events scheduled before, after, and in between the ones mentioned above, such as the Winemaker Dinner at Ducey’s on Weds. Apr. 27 or the Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 8. All details, menus, and prices can be found on our web site.
