Warm Clothes For Hearts, Hands And Toes

coat-driveMOUNTAIN AREA — Some local families are banding together at the onset of the coldest months to ensure that all of our neighbors have a chance to stay warm this winter.

Friends in Oakhurst, Coarsegold, Yosemite Lakes Park, North Fork and Mariposa are asking the community to donate their new or gently used items for a winter coat drive with all contributions to be distributed to local families in need.

They’ll also be purchasing some accessories new, so a monetary donation is helpful, as well.

Items needed include coats and blankets, which can be donated new or in gently used condition. Gloves, beanies and socks are also requested, with the additional caveat that these items should be new.

Donations can be dropped off at Oakhurst Office Outlet located at 49269 Golden Oak Drive in Oakhurst, or the adjacent Mandy Brasa Gallery, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pak & Page is also accepting donations during open hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., located at 40108 Hwy49, Suite C. Pak & Page is also an official drop off location for Toys For Tots.

The first distribution will be Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. at Oakhurst Community Park, say organizers, and anyone who wishes to participate is invited.

For more information phone (559) 676-0595.
