“Each autumn, Vision Academy of the Arts spearheads a movement to bring beauty to our mountains by planting daffodil bulbs in honor of loved ones,” explains Vision Academy board member Nicole Hoke.

“Each spring our foothills come alive peppered in gorgeous displays of yellow and white daffodils. In order to celebrate the beauty and achievement of the community’s planting efforts, Vision Academy of the Arts is sponsoring the daffodil photography competition.”

Vision has produced a map to facilitate finding your way through the daffodils this year.

Ribbons will be given for the top submissions to the contest. You may email your submissions to geonorva@gmail.com. The competition is open to all ages. Please include your name as well as age and school, if under 18. Vision Academy may use submissions in newsletters and social media.

Members of Vision Academy are dedicated to the development of all art forms: they perform and support musical and instrumental concerts, hold workshops on the arts for people of all ages, lead a three-week summer camp, and volunteer their services to make Oakhurst and neighboring communities more beautiful.

Vision Academy concerts raise money for scholarships to encourage our young people to pursue their own love of art in all its glorious forms. To date, Vision Academy has given away more than $150,000 in scholarship to local high school students.

Vision Academy meets on the third Thursday of each month. Their next meeting is tonight, Mar. 21, 2017.
