OAKHURST — June is a big sale month at local thrift shop, A Cause 4 Paws, says store owner Vickie Deane.
All jackets are 75 percent off and any store item that has a lime green tag is 50 percent off. These discounts apply all month long.
Those in the community who may refurbish vintage autos, make note: Vickie received a large number of vintage car parts which are now available for purchase in the store’s Man Cave.
Do you enjoy sitting in the garden? Cause for Paws has garden chairs for $3.99 in good condition, she adds, just waiting for the right patio or garden.
Want to help out? Volunteers are needed for sorting, testing, cleaning and stocking products for the sales areas. Volunteers choose their own hours and receive store credit in exchange for time and expertise.
As always, military personnel receive a 25 percent discount on all purchases. The only exclusions to all of these discounts are on the purchase of consignment items.
Animal lovers and others, please remember that the store is collecting empty cans, bottles and glass containers. These items will be recycled and, at the end of the month, all proceeds will be donated to the store’s spay and neuter program. Foothill residents are encouraged to collect their recyclables in plastic bags and to bring their donations any time during the month.
For every 13-gallon bag or a single equivalent donation the donor will receive a $10 punch on their Frequent Buyer card. When the card is full, it can be traded for free merchandise at the thrift store.
The thrift shop is locally known as a cat rescue and they have found homes for more than 500 abandoned cats and kittens. They also donate a $500 college scholarship to a local graduating high school senior each year called the “Future Veterinarian Award.”
