Veteran’s Car Show Kicks Off Big Weekend

Veterans Car ShowCOARSEGOLD — Spend some time this weekend at the historic village for the Veteran’s Car Show, presented by and benefitting American Legion Post 110, Caring Veterans of America, Inc., and Amvets Post 99.

The show is on Saturday, July 2, all day, and features exhibits by a number of military branches, including Army, Navy and Air Force, as well as an opening flag ceremony with local Boy Scouts.

A variety of hot rods and classics will be on display, and what makes the difference at the Coarsegold Veteran’s Car Show is that there are classes for everyone. Got a Jaguar or a Buick or a T-bucket? There’s a class for that. Plus, the organizers say, “no category for your car? We’ll make one!”

Numerous awards, including “Vulcan Materials Top Ten,” “Best Engine,” “Best Interior,” and “Best Paint,” along with a number of Sponsors’ Choice and Chamber Directors’ Choice, as well as the Summit-sponsored “Kids Choice,” ensure that everyone walks away a winner.

Tired of looking at cars? You can stroll through the shops and vendors in the area on the lookout for antiques, art, crafts and more. When the show is over, pick up some visitor intel at the Coarsegold Chamber of Commerce tourist information center to help you plan the rest of your weekend; head back down the road to the Casino and win a few bucks or try the local Coarsegold restaurants for dinner.
