Vegetation Fire Temporarily Closes Highway 41

O’NEALS – A vegetation fire closed a portion of Highway 41 this morning from Road 200 to just south of the Rocky Cut (north of the 22-Mile House).

The fire was reported just before 9:30 a.m. burning along the highway near Road 406, finally consuming about 1.5 acres before forward progress was stopped at 9:53 a.m.

All incoming resources not already at scene were cancelled, including air resources. The road is expected to re-open at approximately 12:30 p.m. according to the Incident Commander.

Detours were put in place southbound via Road 200 to Road 210, south on Road 210/211 to Highway 145, then west on 145 back to Highway 41. Northbound traffic should turn right on Highway 145 to Road 211.
