Update On Serpa Fire 12 PM Saturday

COARSEGOLD — As firefighters continue to strengthen firelines and do mop-up on the Serpa Fire, many are being released to be available for any new incidents.

The fire is reported at 80 percent containment this morning, with the size re-estimated at 77 acres.

All restrictions were lifted as of 5 p.m. yesterday, and the public is allowed to access all previously evacuated areas near the fire.

Everyone is reminded that fire personnel and equipment are still moving in and around the fire area, and caution is urged when traveling on the roads.

The Serpa Fire was reported just before 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, burning on the east side of Highway 41 north of Coarsegold on the Veater Ranch.
