Town Hall Meeting Thursday In Bass Lake

BASS LAKE — District 5 Supervisor Tom Wheeler will be hosting the next in his series of Town Hall meetings at the Pines Resort in Bass Lake on Thursday, Aug. 11, from 6-8 p.m.

On the agenda will be an update from the Sierra National Forest, and a presentation by Anne Melrose, Board Member of the Coarsegold Resource Conservation District.

Nathan Lee, Executive Director for Court Appointed Special Advocates, will also make a presentation, followed by Dexter Marr of Environmental Health on onsite wastewater treatment systems.

There will also be updates from Cal Fire on the current fire situation and hazard trees.

Following the presentations, members of the public will be given time to ask questions on issues of concern for residents of Eastern Madera County.

Supervisor Wheeler’s office reminds the public of these upcoming events:

  • Congressman Tom McClintock will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday Aug. 18 at 5 p.m. at the North Fork Rancheria Community Center located at 56900 Kuhugib Road in North Fork.
  • The Annual Sierra River Clean-up will occur Sierra-wide this September. http://www.sierranevada.ca.gov/our-work/rivercleanup
  • The Sierra Forest Plan is taking public comments on the environmental impact statement for the Forest Plan Revision Process through Aug. 24. For more information, click here.
