Town Hall Meeting Rescheduled For Thursday Jan. 19

OAKHURST — The Town Hall meeting postponed from Thursday, Jan. 12, has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 19, same time, same place.

District 5 Supervisor Tom Wheeler will host his first Town Hall meeting of the new year at the Oakhurst Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m.

On the agenda is an update on the tree mortality situation in the Central Sierra by representatives from Cal Fire, PG&E, the U.S. Forest Service, Caltrans, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

A panel of health care professionals in the area will talk about services available to residents, and Dexter Marr of Environment Health will make a presentation.

Also on the agenda are Matt Treber, Department of Community and Economic Development, and Jared Carter from the Public Works Department.

As always, there will be time for questions and answers on issues of concern to county residents.

Tom Wheeler has recently announced his intention to run again in 2018 for the District 5 seat on the Madera County Board of Supervisors.

The Oakhurst Community Center is located at 39800 Road 425B.
