OAKHURST — Women of Soroptimist International of The Sierras invite the community to their semi-annual Soup & Salad Luncheon.
All are welcome to indulge in a salad bar set up with fresh toppings plus various homemade salads and two delicious soups (chicken tortilla and Irish potato), along with rolls, iced tea or coffee, and dessert.
This year the event is set for Thursday, Mar. 16. The feast and festivities will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Oakhurst Community Center.
Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased from any Soroptimist member and at the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce. Take-out is also being offered and can be picked up at the Community Center.
One day’s highlights is an abundant silent auction, featuring items generously donated by individuals and businesses in our community. The auction will begin promptly at 1 p.m. and one need to be present to win.
Held twice a year in spring and fall, the luncheons are a major fundraiser for the organization. Proceeds benefit Soroptimist community projects throughout the year.

The Soroptimist Mission Statement is “a global volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.”
