Timberline Gallery Hosts Yosemite Grant Event

OAKHURST – Gallery Row and the Galleries are hosting a series of special events all throughout the year in celebration of the The Yosemite Grant of 1864. beginning this Saturday.

The series begins this Saturday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. as De Karlen presents an informative talk about The Yosemite Grant at the Timberline Gallery and Gallery Yosemite in Oakhurst.

De will be discussing why the Park Service is celebrating this 150th year anniversary, along with a bit of the human history of Yosemite, the people and their vision.

De is especially qualified and knowledgeable about the subject, as she has been a Park Ranger in Yosemite and has guided for several years with Discover Yosemite. She has also worked with the Yosemite Conservancy in Wawona. De is a gifted artist and a member of Timberline Gallery.

“We hope friends and neighbors will stop in to hear all about the start of a year of celebration regarding our ‘back yard’ – Yosemite National Park,” says local artist Vivian Helena. “Let friends know and come and enjoy the insights that De will share, and enjoy her unique perspective of life in the Park.”

Guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments and a tour of the galleries.
