The Artists Formerly Known As The Adam Burns Band – Tonight!

MIDPINES – The Adam Burns Band is looking for a new name and the group needs your help to find it.

The well-known band will be bring their unique brand of rock, folk, ska and eastern European influences to the Yosemite Bug on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 8 – 11 p.m. The Bug is also known as the Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort, located at 6979 Highway 140, Midpines.With music described as “both energetic and richly melodic,” the band features singer and songwriter Adam Burns on guitar, Greg Archer grooving on bass, Kristin Ramsey on guitar, violin and heart-melting vocals, and Mark Albosta bringing intricate rhythm on drums and percussion.

The popular group has performed together for over seven years, and this Saturday night is special: they’re having a “Re-naming Party” where everyone is invited to suggest a fresh moniker for the spirited troupe.

The band posted information about the new-name party on their Facebook page.

“We’re choosing a new name. We realize this may come as a puzzling surprise, but we’re very excited about it. We’re looking for a name that better reflects the character of our group and the spirit of our music. This is no easy task.”

The post was signed, “Adam, Mark, Kristin and Greg (The Artists Formerly Known As The Adam Burn Band).”

The four performers are asking for help from their friends and fans. Cards and pencils will be on hand Saturday night so guests can submit suggestions for a new name. They welcome all ideas and are also taking name suggestions via email and social media and plan to unveil their new name next month.

Saturday’s show will be proceeded by singer-songwriter Jean Butterfield, who is set to appear onstage at 7:30 p.m., followed by the new-name-seeking foursome at 8 p.m., at the Bug, which offers a relaxed and social atmosphere including accommodations and amenities.

“We’ve got some new songs to share and we’re really excited about returning to this intimate and vibrant venue,” says the band. For more information go to
