Yosemite was once the most developed winter sports location in the United States, Sharon explains.

“It was even a contender to host the 1932 Winter Olympics,” says the author. “Imagine, a wingless airplane pulling skiers around the meadows, a 60,000 square foot skating rink and a 70 mile per hour toboggan run, just to name a few.”

Hear how and when it began, as well as how it ended, at this free presentation followed by a Q&A and book signing for those interested in Sharon’s hiking books.

The Mariposa Museum & History Center is located at 5119 Jessie Street in Mariposa.
