Step Up For Mountain Heritage Days

Mountain Heritage Days flyer 2016 OAKHURST — Plans for excitement are underway as the Sierra Historic Sites Association readies for celebrating the 20th annual Mountain Heritage Days on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 – 17.

Organizers say it’s going to be a blast.

The festival-style event is held at Fresno Flats Historic Park for both days, with the parade on Saturday at 10 a.m. Newly-commissioned parade Grand Marshals Dr. John and Ellen Peterson will be at the helm, so whatever follows is sure to be fun and entertaining.

The Sierra Historic Sites Association oversees Fresno Flats and the Mountain Heritage Days event. Organizers welcome all volunteers, service organizations, clubs and schools to participate in a variety of ways.

Want to get involved? Sierra Historic Sites Association board members, along with members of the Association and the community at large are invited to attend the regular meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room at Raley’s. Board and Director positions are open and participation is encouraged.
