Sierra National Forest Seeks Input On OHV Funding

CLOVIS – The Sierra National Forest is requesting public input for the 2017 State Off Highway Motor Vehicle (OHV) funding/proposal submission cycle.

This year the State has funds available for education, operation and maintenance, plus law enforcement and restoration projects, and the Sierra National Forest will submit an OHV grant application for this funding.

As part of the application process, the Sierra National Forest is requesting public input/project ideas on what individuals and organizations would like to see included in the 2017 submittal.

Each year the State of California makes funding available through the OHV Grants Program. The grants program provides financial assistance to eligible agencies and organizations (federal, city, county, nonprofit, etc.) that develop, maintain, operate, expand, support, or contribute to well-managed, high-quality, OHV recreation areas, roads and trails.

Written comments may be submitted to: Sierra National Forest, Attn. Cesar Sanchez, 1600 Tollhouse Road, Clovis, CA 93611 or cesarsanchez@fs.fed.us.  Comments regarding the 2017 State OHV funding proposal must be submitted by Jan. 20, 2016.
