Sheriff’s Local Crime Log Through Sept. 11

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Sept. 5 to Sunday, Sept 11, 2016:

Oakhurst juveniles arrested
On Monday, Sept. 5 at 2:56 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the Denny’s Restaurant located within the 40600 block of CA-41 regarding a report of a theft. Three juvenile suspects had fled from the scene in a vehicle that was shortly seen by a deputy on CA-49, near Westlake Drive. A pursuit ensued and the suspect vehicle crashed on CA-41 near Harmony Lane. All suspects fled from the scene of the crash but were located and identified later during the investigation. One juvenile, 11, was only a passenger in the vehicle. Two juvenile teenagers were later transported to the Madera County Juvenile Hall, where they were booked into custody. North Fork family disturbance
On Monday, Sept. 5 at 10:11 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 57000 block of Road 225 in regards to a possible suicidal subject. Upon arrival, the the reporting party was contacted. The male in question was contacted by telephone and claims that he was not making suicidal statements and was only upset with his wife. Case written for documentation only.

North Fork burglary
On Monday, Sept. 5 at 10:46 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 33000 block of Road 221 in regards to a residential burglary. Upon arrival the victim was contacted and certain areas inside the residence were processed for physical evidence. Arrangements were made for an identification technician to respond to the residence in order to thoroughly process the residence. Case to remain open.

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Monday, Sept. 5 at 12:43 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to 40000 block of Highway 41 regarding an intoxicated subject causing a disturbance. The subject was located in a local business and arrested and booked in the Madera County Jail. Case to go to District Attorneys Office for charges.

Bass Lake search and rescue
On Monday, Sept. 5 at 11:52 a.m. Off Highway Patrol Deputies were dispatched to the Fresno Dome Trail Head in regard to a patient who called 911 due to an allergic reaction. The patient was contacted by the deputy and flown out by CHP helicopter. Close the case.

Oakhurst suspicious activity
On Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 10:55 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Big Sandy Drive regarding suspicious activity at Hillview Water Company. This report is for documentation only. Case to be closed.

North Fork theft
On Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. the Madera County Education Day Class teacher turned into School Resource Deputy several California Driver’s Licenses which were recovered from their student. The legal guardian of the student came to the school and talked to the School Resource Deputy. The CDL’s belonged to a family member who lives on the same property which was taken by he student without permission. The student was counseled by the deputy and the items were returned to the legal guardian. No further action was taken and the student returned to class. The campus is located at the 50000 block of Road 427 in Oakhurst.

Coarsegold parcel theft
On Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 9:56 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to contact an adult female by phone regarding a possible parcel theft. There are no leads, case to be closed.

Coarsegold narcotics
On Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 2:48 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 35000 block of Douglas Trail regarding a report of an adult male with possible mental problems. The subject was eventually located and found in possession of a controlled substance. Report is to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 4:48 p.m. a deputy contacted a subject who had two outstanding arrest warrants. Subject cited out. Close the case.

Coarsegold missing person allaged
On Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 5:52 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the casino in regards to a missing person report. Deputy uncovered infidelity and the case was not an actual missing person. Close the case.

Oakhurst burglary
On Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 9:52 am. a deputy was dispatched to the Sierra Senior Center regarding a burglary. There were no leads, case to be closed.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 3:52 p.m. deputies responded to the 38000 block of Road 422 in regards to a report of vandalism. The reporting party was unable to provide any information more than a name for the possible suspect and deputies were unable to locate any further info using the name provided. Request case closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 3:27 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 44700 block of Foxtail Road in regards to stolen property. The property was recovered and turned over to the victim. The initial case was Clovis PD’s jurisdiction. They advised the case was to be closed. Recommend this case to be closed.

Coarsegold person in distress
On Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 2:48 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 35000 block of Douglas Trail regarding a male subject who would possibly need a mental health evaluation hold. The subject was eventually located and placed on a mental healthy evaluation hold and transported to a hospital. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Thursday, Sept. 8 at 12:58 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the bridge of Road 426 at Civic Circle in regards to transients sleeping under the bridge. A subject was contacted and arrested for an outstanding warrant. Subject booked into the jail. Close the case. Forward to POP Sgt. Rich for review.

Bass Lake theft
On Thursday, Sept. 8 at 2:36 p.m. deputies took a theft report that occurred in the area of the 56000 block of Marina View. The theft took place sometime between July 4 and Sept. 2. At this time the suspects are unknown.

Coarsegold mail theft
On Friday, Sept. 9 at 7:20 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the intersection of Quartz Mt Road and Longview Lane E. regarding a theft of mail. This case is to be closed as there are no further leads.

Oakhurst arrest
On Friday, Sept. 9 at 9:45 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a local business in the 40100 block of CA 41 in regards to a subject hitting the walls. The deputy contacted the subject who was arrested for loitering. Forward the case to the Madera County District Attorneys Office for charges. Forward a copy of this report to POP Sgt. Larry Rich for review.

Oakhurst burglary report
On Friday, Sept. 9 at 11:07 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst Substation lobby regarding a burglary. This case it to be closed due to a lack of leads.

Oakhurst theft
On Friday, Sept. 9 at 3:54 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a theft from a business on Road 426. A report was taken. Recommend to suspend this case due to lack of investigative leads at this time.

Oakhurst theft
On Friday, Sept. 9 at 3:47 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to Raley’s shopping center area regarding the possible theft of an alcohol bottle from the store. The subject was located in front of the Oakhurst Library and was subsequently arrested for and transported to the jail for booking. Case to be forwarded to the district attorney for filing charges.

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Saturday, Sept. 10 at 4:35 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 40300 blk of Junction Drive for a report of a suspicious person. A case was generated for a warrant arrest and the case was closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Saturday, Sept. 10 at 12:06 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a call for service at the Oakhurst substation regarding an alleged theft of property from a vehicle in Coarsegold. Report taken and case closed.

Public intoxication
On Saturday, Sept. 10 at 5:49 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 regarding a family being harassed by an intoxicated subject. Upon arrival deputies contacted the reporting party who advised the subject had been using profanity and was harassing them as they were trying to work on their broken down vehicle. The reporting party gave a description of the subject and stated he left, walking north bound on Highway 41. Deputies contacted the subject at the cemetery. Upon contacting the subject, deputies could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. Due to his intoxicated state and it being the second time the subject had been contacted for harassing citizens, he was taken into custody.

Coarsegold theft of cannon
On Sunday, Sept. 11 at 11:24 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 29000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway regarding a theft of cannon and vandalism to cannons. Report taken and case closed.

Bass Lake missing hunter
On Sunday, Sept. 11 at 12:35 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a report of a lost hunter in the area of Iron Lakes and Quartz Mountain. The subject was later located by another hunter. Case taken for documentation.

Mammoth Lakes missing hiker
On Sunday, Sept. 11 at 2:45 p.m. authorities received a report of a missing 63 year old male. Male had become missing while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. A hiking partner was able to provide limited information regarding the missing male.

Oakhurst credit card fraud
On Sunday, Sept. 11 at 8:12 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to telephone a female regarding a report of unauthorized use of credit card information. Reportedly the last unauthorized use of the credit card information occurred over the telephone at a Pizza Factory Restaurant, located within the 40100 block of CA-41 in Oakhurst. This case has been forwarded to the Sheriff’s Detective Division for follow up investigation.

Coarsegold coroner’s report
On Sunday, Sept. 11 at 9:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 415 for a report of a corner case. The body was transported to Merced County Corner’s Office for further investigation.

Coarsegold domestic violence
On Sunday, Sept. 11 at 11:25 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Wild Flower Ct. for a report of a female victim stating that she had been hit by her husband and that he had locked her out of the house. A report was written and forwarded to Madera County District Attorneys Office for charges.
