Sheriff’s Local Crime Log Through Oct. 2

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Sept. 26 to Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016:

Coarsegold theft
On Monday, Sept. 26 at 6:42 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a theft report, and instructed to contact security and that a suspect had been identified. Video surveillance of the theft was later obtained from casino staff. The deputy requested that the report be forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s office for charges to be filed.

Coarsegold report of fraud
On Monday, Sept. 26 at 2:01 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 45000 block of Old Corral Road in regards to a possible fraud report. Upon arrival, it was determined that no crime has been committed and the reporting party had provided her personal information to someone posing as a bank. An incident report was taken for documentation at this time.

Coarsegold theft
On Monday, Sept. 26 at 3:18 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 415 regarding a theft of a propane tank. Upon contacting the victim, it was determined the theft had occurred on Saturday, Sept. 24 at approximately 8:45 p.m.  The victim advised that her neighbor had caught the suspects on his home surveillance system. Upon reviewing the footage it was determined a small white sedan had driven up, at which time a female exited the vehicle and walked over to the residence. A short time later, she returned to the vehicle with a large white object that appeared to be the propane tank. The vehicle then left the scene.

Coarsegold theft
On Monday, Sept. 26 at 3:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located in the 34000 block of CA-41 in regards to a theft report. At that time there were no suspect(s) or witnesses to this theft. Case to be closed due to a lack of investigative leads/ evidence.

Oakhurst robbery
On Monday, Sept. 26 at 4:37 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 49000 block of Civic Circle regarding a possible robbery. Upon contacting the victim, he advised that he was jumped by two subjects, who claimed he owed people money. The victim was not injured and advised the subject left the area after a witness called the Sheriff’s Department. Deputies spoke to multiple witnesses and circulated the area for the subjects but were unable to locate them. The case is still under investigation.

Coarsegold coroner’s report
On Monday, Sept. 26 at 5:26 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Jennifer Lane regarding a coroner case. Forward to Deputy Chief Coroner for follow-up.

Coarsegold felony warrant arrest
On Monday, Sept. 26 at 6:25 p.m. a deputy went to the 31000 block of Apache Road in the attempt to serve a felony warrant. The deputy later found the suspect with outstanding misdemeanor and felony warrants, who then was later arrested and transported to Madera County DOC.

Coarsegold theft
On Monday, Sept. 26 at 11:30 p.m. a deputy dispatched to the 30000 block of Picayune Creek Court regarding a theft. Case will be forwarded to DA for review.

Oakhurst lost wallet
On Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 1:14 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of Hidden Falls Road regarding a lost wallet at or near Oakhurst Park. Report taken. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst firearm turned in
On Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 2:36 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation regarding a subject wanting to turn in an old firearm for destruction. The gun was booked in for destruction. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst burglary
On Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 4:53 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 40000 block of Indian Springs Road. Upon arrival deputy located the suspect that the victim said he saw leave the victim’s trailer with his property. A short foot chase began and the suspect was later located and arrested. The suspect was then transported to Madera County DOC for evaluation and then transported to Madera County DOC on various felony charges.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 6:45 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to Mcdonald’s restaurant in regards to a vehicle burglary. The reporting party was determined to be a danger to himself and placed on a protective hold. Close the case.

Oakhurst coroner’s report
On Wednesday, Sept. 28 10:12 a.m. a deputy responded to aa delayed Coroner’s case with the primary physician stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death. This is a natural death case involving only a Coroner’s referral number.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 10:27 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 29000 block of Deer Trail Lane in regards to a female possibly requiring a mental health evaluation. A protective hold was placed and the subject transported to the hospital. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold vandalism to business
On Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 11:06 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Chukchansi Casino regarding vandalism to a hotel room. One adult male was arrested and booked on felony vandalism. Report is to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Oakhurst elder abuse
On Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 11:36 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the lobby of the Oakhurst substation in regards to possible assault/elder abuse. A report was taken and an emergency order of protection was granted and served. Adult Protective Services was contacted. Recommended to forward the case to Madera County APS attention Veronica Reyes. Close the case.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 1:12 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 36000 block of Wells Road in regards to a subject who was possibly in need of a mental health evaluation. Upon contact the subject was determined to be a danger to self and others and a protective hold was placed. Case was to be closed.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Thursday, Sept. 29 at 2:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 30000 block of Stetson Drive in regards to a female wanting to kill herself. A protective hold was placed. The patient was transported. Recommended to close the case.

Coarsegold fraud
On Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 4:15 p.m. a ddeputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Deep Forest Drive regarding a report of identity fraud. No arrests were made. A case report was written and forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agencies for further investigation.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 8:25 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 47000 block of Hopi Avenue for a report of a verbal disturbance. A report was generated for a 72 hour mental health evaluation hold and the case was closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Thursday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 29000 block of Deer Trail Lane in regards to a theft from a vehicle. A report taken. Close the case due to lack of investigative leads.

Coarsegold identity theft
On Thursday, Sept. 29 at 10:54 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation regarding a report of identity theft. There are no leads. This report is for documentation only. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold found property
On Thursday, Sept. 29 at 11:19 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway regarding found property. The items were booked into the property room at the Oakhurst substation. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold assault
On Thursday, Sept. 29 at 9:05 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding the report of domestic violence. During the investigation the victim advised he did not wish to pursue criminal charges against the suspect. Case to be closed

Coarsegold danger to self
On Friday, Sept. 30 at 9:37 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence at the block of 41000 Lilley Mountain Drive regarding a subject wanted to harm himself. The subject was transported to the hospital for mental health evaluation. Refer report closed.

Coarsegold fraud
On Friday, Sept. 30 at 12:21 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the lobby of the Sheriff’s Oakhurst substation in regards to a fraud. A report taken. Forward to detectives.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Friday, Sept. 30 at 3:54 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a local business in regards to homeless subjects. The subjects were contacted and one had an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was cited into court.

Raymond warrant arrest
On Friday, Sept. 30 at 8:39 p.m. a deputy responded to the 34000 block of Road 600 for a report of a trespasser. The subject was contacted and found to have outstanding warrants. He was arrested and booked into the department of corrections on the warrants.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Sunday, Oct. 2 at 12:33 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 of Oonay Nation Road for a possible intentional vehicle crash. Deputy contacted a subject that was checked for warrants and the subject came back with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The subject was later booked into the Madera County department of corrections on the outstanding warrant.

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Sunday, Oct. 2 at 5:31 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of CA-41 and Royal Oaks Drive. The driver of the vehicle had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of Mariposa County. The driver was transported to the Mariposa County line and transferred over to Mariposa County deputies to be booked into their jail.
