Sheriff’s Local Crime Log Through Apr. 16

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Sunday, Apr. 10 to Saturday, Apr. 16, 2016.

Coarsegold found property
On Sunday, Apr. 10 at 9:08 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a report of found property in the 35000 block of CA-41. A bag containing various hand tools was located by a citizen. It was unknown who owns the items. The items were booked into evidence at the sheriff’s office substation for safe keeping. Report to be closed.

North Fork burglary
On Sunday, Apr. 10 at 9:23 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to investigate a burglary that occurred in the 56000 block of Road 200. Upon arrival, the scene was processed and evidence was seized for processing. There are currently no witnesses or suspects. This case is to remain open, pending results of evidence analysis.

Oakhurst accident
On Sunday, Apr. 10 at 11:09 a.m. a deputy backed into two concrete poles at a business located in the 40000 block of CA-41. The patrol vehicle sustained damage to the rear bumper. This report is taken for documentation only. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold found drugs
On Sunday, Apr. 10 at 11:56 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46500 block of Lucky Lane for found property, drugs. The deputy arrived and made contact with security who turned over an evidence sealed bag with methamphetamine, pipe and a burnt marijuana bud. The deputy collected these items to be destroyed.

Coarsegold warrant citation
On Sunday, Apr. 10 at 11:59 p.m. a deputy conducted a subject check on a male subject at a business located in the area of 46500 block of Lucky Lane. The subject check came back with two misdemeanor warrants out of Madera County and the subject was cited out on the warrants.

Oakhurst attempted burglary
On Sunday, Apr. 10 at 4:32 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 42000 block of Bridge Road for an attempted burglary report. A report was generated and closed until further investigative leads arise.

Oakhurst weapons report
On Sunday, Apr. 10 at 8:38 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Highway 41 for a possible burglary. Upon arrival the subject was gone and no entry had been made. A second dispatch call an hour later revealed a weapon had been brandished to the person reporting the incident. No arrests were made, suspect’s identity is still unknown. Case to be closed pending identity of suspect.

Bass Lake Coroner’s report
On Monday, Apr. 11 at 1:16 p.m. deputies noted a delayed Coroner’s case with the primary physician stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death. This is a natural death case involving only a Coroner’s referral number.

North Fork warrant arrest
On Monday, Apr. 11 at 12:53 p.m. a deputy conducted a self-initiated vehicle check. The male driver was subsequently placed under arrest for an active misdemeanor warrant. Case to be closed.

O’Neals suspicious circumstances
On Monday, Apr. 11 at 1:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of House Ranch Road and Road 200 in regards to a suspicious circumstances call for service. This report was taken for documentation only. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst fraud report
On Monday, Apr. 11 at 2:58 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation in regards to a fraud report. There are no suspect(s) in this case. Report is to be closed due to a lack of investigative leads or evidence.

North Fork suspected blood found
On Monday, Apr. 11 at 10:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 53200 block of Timberview Road regarding a report of found property. This case was written for documentation only and has been closed. The found property was a medical laboratory vial containing a red liquid substance, suspected to be blood, and was booked as found property.

Coarsegold vandalism
On Tuesday, Apr. 12 at 9:05 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to investigate a vandalism that occurred in the 46000 block of Oonay Nation Road. There are currently no suspect(s) and no physical evidence was located at the scene. Report to be suspended due to a lack of investigative leads or evidence.

Coarsegold juvenile probation report
On Tuesday, Apr. 12 at 9:45 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of Falcon View Court in regards to a runaway juvenile report. Upon arrival, the reporting party was contacted. It was discovered that the juvenile was in school and was not missing. The juvenile is currently on active probation and has been ordered to reside at the residence on Falcon View Court. This report will be forwarded to the Madera County Juvenile Probation Department for review and follow up.

Coarsegold pack of dogs
On Tuesday, Apr. 12 at 10:33 a.m. a school Resource Deputy was advised by Yosemite Unified School Transportation Supervisor that a pack of small to medium sized dogs were chasing kids as they walked to their bus stop. The house and dogs were located at the 31000 block of Apache Road. The exact location was determined and photos were taken of the dogs which were forwarded to Madera County Animal Control for follow-up.

Oakhurst threat by juvenile to teacher
On Tuesday, Apr. 12 at 2:06 p.m. a school secretary reported to School Resource Deputy that a student made a verbal threat to his teacher. The campus is located at the 50000 block of Road 427 in Oakhurst. An investigation was conducted and a request for charges will be forwarded to Madera County Juvenile Probation.

Oakhurst burglary
On Tuesday, Apr. 12 at 4:25 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of CA-41 regarding a report of a burglary. Report taken, evidence obtained, arrest made, charges forward to Madera County District Attorneys Office, and case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold assault
On Tuesday, Apr. 12 at 6:30 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 47900 block of Shawnee Avenue regarding a report of an assault that had just occurred. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

North Fork search and rescue mission
On Tuesday, Apr. 12 at 8:24 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to Whiskey Falls in Eastern Madera County for a search and rescue mission. The deputy and two 4×4 teams were deployed for the search, but were later cancelled due to the lost person(s) finding their way out without further assistance. Report filed for documentation only.

Ahwahnee theft
On Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 9:18 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 41200 block of Riverbend Lane in regards to a theft. A report taken. Case closed due to lack of investigative leads.

Oakhurst report of assault
On Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 10:30 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a local convalescent home in the 40100 block of CA-49 in regards to an assault. A general incident report taken and the case to be closed.

Coarsegold criminal threats arrest
On Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 12:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 45000 Meadow Brook Road regarding a subject who had threatened to kill the caretaker and her children. The subject was arrested for criminal threats and later booked into the Madera County Jail. Requesting this report be forwarded to the D.A.’s office for charges.

North Fork foot pursuit of felon
On Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 1:07 p.m. deputies responded to the area of Wyle Ranch Road in regards to a fellow deputy who was in foot pursuit of fleeing felon. While in the process of trying to apprehend the fleeing felon two county vehicles were damaged. A report taken for damage to county property. Close the case.

Oakhurst disturbance and arrest
On Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 2:42 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 48000 Liberty Drive regarding a subject in the Oakhurst Substation lobby was causing a disturbance. The subject left the lobby on foot in the front parking lot. The deputy advised the subject to stop several times and the subject did not comply. He was placed in handcuffs and advised he was detained. Upon further investigation the subject was hostile towards staff regarding a request to pick up his property. The subject further delayed the investigation by attempting to leave and not following orders. He was transported to MDOC where he was booked. I am requesting this report be forwarded to the D.A.’s office for charges filed.

North Fork probation violation and arrest
On Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 1 p.m. a deputy was assisting in the attempt to arrest a wanted person on probation in the 31000 block of Wyle Ranch Road. When Probation officers and the deputy attempted contact the wanted subject took off running. Officers and deputies attempted to contact the wanted subject a second time at his residence; the subject took off running and got away. The wanted subject’s girlfriend was arrested and booked into the county jail.

Coarsegold suspicious trespass and arrest
On Wednesday, Apr. 13 at 5:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the area of Ranger Circle Drive and Moccasin Drive for two suspicious subjects walking onto peoples properties. The two subjects were located on Revis Road. The female subject was related to a prior threats call. Her parents were contacted who arrived to pick her up. Male subject was arrested for an offense. Recommend this be sent to DA for prosecution.

O’Neals Coroner’s case
On Thursday, Apr. 14 at 11:10 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Road 406 regarding a coroner’s case. Report was written.

Oakhurst arrest and release
On Thursday, Apr. 14 at 12:21 p.m. a deputy contacted two subjects under the bridge at CA-49 and CA-41, who were illegally camping. The male subject was arrested for not providing his identity. He was later cited and released on scene. Refer to the D.A’s office for charges filed.

North Fork civil dispute
On Thursday, Apr. 14 at 11:57 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a telephone report of theft from the North Fork area. No actual theft occurred and it seems to be a civil issue. A report taken for documentation purposes only.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Thursday, Apr. 14 at 4:04 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 40000 CA-41 regarding a subject who reportedly wanted to kill himself. He was later located by the laundry mat next to the cemetery holding a pair of scissors to his throat. He was detained and placed under a mental health evaluation hold. He was turned over to EMS for transport to Madera County Hospital.

Oakhurst purse found
On Thursday, Apr. 14 at 5:30 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to an apartment complex located in the 48000 block of River Park Road for a report of a found purse. The purse was collected and booked into evidence at the Madera County Sheriff Department, Oakhurst Substation as found property.

Coarsegold intoxication and arrest
On Thursday, Apr. 14 at 9:34 p.m. deputies responded to the 30000 Blk of CA-41 for a report of a disturbance. On arrival, a subject was contacted and found to be intoxicated and had a warrant. Subject resisted deputies and was arrested and taken to the department of corrections.

Ahwahnee assault
On Thursday, Apr. 14 at 9:58 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42300 block of CA-49 in regards to an assault. A report was taken and evidence collected. Forward the case to the Madera County District Attorney for review of charges.

Bass Lake danger to self
On Friday, Apr. 15 at 11:22 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block fo 40000 Road 274 regarding a possible domestic incident. Upon further investigation the female had been drinking and wanted to kill herself. She was put under a mental health evaluation hold and transported to MCH. Refer report closed.

Ahwahnee assault and fraud
On Friday, Apr. 15 at 9:58 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42300 block of CA -9 in regards to an assault. Information indicated that a fraud had occurred. A report was taken for the assault and fraud with separate case numbers. Forward to detectives’ unit.

Coarsegold theft
On Friday, Apr. 15 at 4:10 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the Coarsegold Market in regards to a theft. The suspects were detained but the victim later did not want to pursue charges. A pocket knife was not given back to the owner. The knife was booked into evidence at the Oakhurst Substation for safekeeping.

Oakhurst carved bears stolen
On Saturday, Apr. 16 at 10:52 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 39000 block of Pine Ridge Road regarding a theft report. The reporting party said three wooded carved bears statues were stolen from the front lawn. No further leads at this time. Case closed.

North Fork juveniles theft and burglary
On Saturday, Apr. 16 at 6:22 p.m. a deputy responded to the 33000 block of Road 230 for theft of items from vehicles and burglary to a restaurant. An investigation was conducted and two juveniles were arrested and booked for theft and burglary. Case forwarded to juvenile probation.

Oakhurst suicide
On Saturday, Apr. 16 at 7:27 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 45000 Block of N. Oakview Drive regarding a deceased person. Investigation concluded a male subject took his own life by hanging. Case forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Coroner.

Bass Lake theft
On Saturday, Apr. 16 at 10:33 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to The Pines Resort and Ducey’s Restaurant regarding a report of a theft. The estimated total value of the items taken amounted to
less than $950. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.
