Sheriff’s Crime Log Week of August 3

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally during the week of Monday, Aug. 3 through Sunday, Aug 9, 2015.

North Fork Burglary
Deputies responded on Monday, Aug. 3 at 12:05 a.m. to the area of the 33200 block of West Vista Dr. for a burglary report at a vacation home. The home owners of the residence had not yet been contacted. The report was closed until further investigative leads arise.

North Fork Burglary
Deputies were dispatched on Monday, Aug. 3 at 9:13 a.m. to the 3300 block of West Vista Dr. regarding a possible residential burglary. A report was written and at time of initial report deputies were advised that nothing was missing. The following day, Aug. 4, the reporting party advised that several jewelry items were missing. A report was written and request forward to detectives for possible follow up.

Oakhurst Vehicle Impounded
While on patrol Monday, Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. at the intersection of CA-49 and Junction Drive, a deputy located a vehicle with expired registration. The vehicle was impounded and the driver cited.

North Fork Burglary
A deputy responded on Monday, Aug. 3 to the 33000 block of West Vista Dr. in North Fork for a residential burglary. An investigation was conducted,
evidence was collected, and no arrests were made. A report was written and forwarded to mountain detectives.

Oakhurst Vandalism
A deputy was dispatched on Monday, Aug. 3 at 11:44 a.m. to the 40000 block of CA-41 in regards to a vandalism report. Property found to be owned by United States Postal Service. USPS was advised. Close case.

Coarsegold Casino Threat
A deputy was dispatched on Monday, Aug. 3 at 1:10 p.m. to a residence within the Indian Lakes Estates community regarding a report of a threat that occurred at the Chukchansi Casino in Coarsegold. During the investigation it was determined no crime occurred. This case was written for documentation only and connected to another case. This case has been closed.

Bass Lake Boat Accident
A deputy was dispatched on Monday, Aug. 3 at 3:20 p.m. to the area of Denver Church recreation area on Bass Lake in regards to a personal water craft which struck a pontoon boat. Minor damage to the right side panel and pontoon on the pontoon boat, minor damage to the left rear of the personal water craft. A report was written in regards to the accident.

Coarsegold Civil Dispute
A deputy responded on Monday, Aug. 3 at 5:51 p.m. to the 41000 block of Lilley Mountain Dr. for a report of a burglary. After speaking to involved parties, it was found to be a civil issue. A case report was taken for informational purposes.

Coarsegold Vandalism
A deputy responded on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 7:29 a.m. to the 31000 block of Quartz Mountain Road for a vandalism that occured to a Madera County Sheriff’s Department citizen patrol vehicle. An investigation was conducted and no arrests were made. Case closed due to lack of evidence or investigative leads.

Oakhurst Dog Bite
A deputy was dispatched on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 11:19 a.m. to the 40000 block of Highway 41 for a child that was bitten on the hand by a dog in front of Von’s grocery store. An investigation was conducted and the dog was placed in quarantine at Animal control in Bass Lake. A report written and the case forwarded to animal control.

North Fork Narcotics
On Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 12:21 p.m. a deputy assigned to patrol the closed area off of Douglas Station Rd., due to the Willow Fire, located an outdoor grow between the 34300 and 34500 block of Bear Clover Circle. The Deputy made contact with the renters who advised they had a medical card to grow and did not know they could not grow marijuana outdoors. The renters removed the plants and the deputy destroyed the plants. Case to be forwarded to MADNET and Code enforcement.

North Fork Theft
A deputy responded on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 3:35 p.m. to the Oakhurst sub-station for lobby traffic, for theft of several gates at the 59000 block of Road 225. Case pulled for documentation purposes at the request of the reporting party. Case closed due to lack of evidence or investigative leads.

Coarsegold Phone Fraud
A deputy was dispatched on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 7:39 p.m. to the 31000 Block of Longview Lane East regarding a telephone scam. An investigation concluded that the victim lost several thousand dollars after a transfer of funds.

Oakhurst Sign Theft
A deputy was dispatched on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 10:46 a.m. to a business in the 49000 block of Road 426 regarding the theft of an advertisement sign. The business owner provided a few leads to be followed up on and this information will be disseminated amongst all mountain deputies.

North Fork Accident
On Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 11:57 a.m. information was received that a victim was working in the Sierra National Forest at Clover Meadow and was struck by a tree that he was moving. The victim was transported to Fresno by Air Ambulance. Information only at this time, case closed.

North Fork Vandalism
On Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 1:59 p.m. deputies took a vandalism report in the area of the 33100 block of Cascadel Road. The report was closed until further investigative leads arise.

Ahwahnee Mail Box Vandalism
A deputy was dispatched on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 2:43 p.m. to contact a representative of the U.S. Mail Service regarding vandalism to a mail box cluster located in the 44000 block of Road 628 in Ahwahnee. A report was generated. Case to be closed pending further investigative leads.

North Fork Fraud
On Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 3:55 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 33000 block of Road 222 for a fraud report. This incident is still being investigated.

Coarsegold Mail Theft
A deputy was dispatched on Wednesday, Aug. 5 to the 45000 block of Rocking Chair Lane regarding a report of mail theft. A report was written, no evidence was obtained, no arrests were made, and the case was forwarded to Madera County Sheriff’s Detectives unit for review.

Coarsegold Woman Disoriented
Deputies were dispatched on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 9:24 p.m. to the 35000 block of CA-41 regarding a suspicious female. Deputies contacted the female who appeared to be disoriented. Deputies made contact with the female’s husband. Forward the report to Adult Protective Services for follow up.

Oakhurst Criminal Threats
On Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 11:15 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 40100 block of Highway 41 for a possible assault report. The suspect was later contacted and placed under arrest for criminal threats. Report was forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.

Oakhurst Man In Distress
On Thursday, Aug. 6 at approximately 3:35 a.m. deputies responded to 49000 blk. of Canoga for a report of a male subject trying to harm himself. Deputies arrived on scene and placed a 72 hour detention for evaluation and treatment on the male subject. The male subject was turned over to EMS without any further incident.

Oakhurst Burglary
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 6:44 a.m. to the 38000 block Wortham Rd. in regards to a residential burglary. The scene was processed for physical evidence. No arrests were made; a case report was written.

Oakhurst Misdemeanor Warrants
On Thursday, Aug. 6 at 6:49 a.m. a deputy contacted a subject in Oakhurst who lives in the 49000 block of River Falls Ln. The subject was found to have multiple misdemeanor warrants. The subject was cited to appear on the warrants and released.

Bass Lake Burglary
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 8:58 a.m. to the 53000 block of Road 432 in regards to a residential burglary. The scene was processed and a case report was written.

Fresno County Delayed Coroner’s Case
This is a delayed coroner case referred by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office. The victim was working the Sierra National Forest on Wednesday, Aug. 5 in Madera County and was struck by a tree and was airlifted to CRMC in Fresno where he later died from his injuries.

North Fork Burglary
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 10:26 a.m. to a residence in the 33000 block of Road 233 in North Fork regarding a house which was burglarized during the Willow fire. The scene was processed and a case report written. Case to be forwarded to detectives for information.

North Fork Burglary
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 12:24 p.m. to a residence in the 33000 block of Road 233 regarding burglary which occurred while the homeowner was evacuated during the Willow Fire. No investigative leads were found. Scene processed with negative results. Case to be forwarded to detectives for information.

Report of Stolen Property For Sale
In regards to the recent and numerous residential burglaries that occurred in the Cascadel Woods area of Madera County during the fire evacuations, detectives on Thursday, Aug. 6 at approximately 1:44 p.m. reported they had developed information that a person may be attempting to sell some of the stolen property in the 54000 block of road 432 on August 6, 2015. Detectives recovered some of the stolen property and one arrest was made as a result of the investigation thus far.

Oakhurst Found Property
On Thursday, Aug. 6 at 2:17 p.m. deputies took a found property report at the Oakhurst substation. A report was generated and closed.

Coarsegold Stolen Motorcycle
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. to the 43000 block of Ranger Circle Dr regarding a stolen motorcycle. The victim was contacted and a statement was obtained. Victim was given a case number. The stolen motorcycle was entered in NCIC system. Forward the report to detectives.

Oakhurst Runaway Juvenile
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 6:16 p.m. to the 49000 block on Pierce Drive in Oakhurst for a runaway juvenile. A report was written, no evidence was gathered, no
arrests were made, the juvenile was entered into MUPS and the case forwarded to the Madera County Detectives unit for follow-up.

Oakhurst Mail Theft
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 6:26 p.m. to the 45000 block on Indian Rock Road regarding mail theft. Report written, case closed, evidence obtained, no arrests made and case forwarded to Madera County Sheriff’s detective unit for review.

Oakhurst Vandalism
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 5:47 p.m. to the 34800 block of Road 221 regarding a vehicle vandalism report. Victim was contacted and a statement was obtained. Photographs of the vandalism were taken and later booked into evidence. Close case due to lack of evidence.

Oakhurst Self-Inflicted Crossbow Wound
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 9:15 p.m. to the 37000 block on Wortham Road regarding a male subject who shot himself with a gun in the chest. After further investigation the male subject advised he shot himself with a crossbow in the chest. Report written, evidence was gathered, subject was placed on a W&I hold, and report forwarded to Madera County Mental health for review.

Coarsegold Missing Person
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 10:22 p.m. to the 50000 block of Falcon View Road in regards to missing persons report. Contacted the reporting party and a report was taken. Subjects was entered into MUPS. Both missing persons have been located by FSO and were removed from MUPS. Close case due to missing persons being located.

Coarsegold Missing Person
A deputy was dispatched on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 10:22 p.m.to contact the reporting party regarding a missing persons report. Contacted the reporting party and a report was taken. Subjects entered into MUPS. Both missing persons have been located by FSO and were removed from MUPS. Close case due to missing persons being located.

Oakhurst Man In Distress
A deputy was dispatched on Friday, Aug. 7 at 6:09 a.m. to the 38000 block of Wortham Road in regards to a adult male placed on a W&I 5150 hold. A report was written on the matter.

Oakhurst Burglary
A deputy was dispatch on Friday, Aug. 7 at 9:29 a.m. to the 37000 block of Wortham Road in regards to a burglary to a residence. Forward report to detectives for
information purposes.

Raymond School Vandalism
A deputy was dispatched on Friday, Aug. 7 at 10:10 a.m. to a school in the 31000 block of Road 600 regarding vandalism to a storage building at school storage site. The area was checked for evidence with negative results and a report taken for documentation. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst Women Fighting
On Friday, Aug. 7 at 3:40 p.m. a deputy responded to a residence in the 50000 block of Road 426 regarding a physical fight between two elderly females. Parties
had minor bruises and both declined to press charges. General Incident report taken for documentation.

Oakhurst Burglary
A deputy responded on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 9:59 a.m. to the 40000 block of Covey Court in regards to a burglary report. Evidence gathered. Forward to detectives for review.

Coarsegold Mail Theft
A deputy was dispatched on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. to phone traffic regarding a theft that occurred from a USPS mail box cluster in Coarsegold. No arrests were made and report was written. Case closed due to lack of suspect information, evidence or investigative leads.

Bass Lake Vandalism
A deputy responded on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 11:33 a.m. to phone traffic of a vandalism that occurred at the 54000 block of Road 432 in Bass Lake. No arrests were made and report was written. Case closed due to lack of suspect information and investigative leads.

North Fork Check Fraud
A deputy was dispatched on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 1:27 p.m. to the 54000 block of Road 222 in regards to a fraudulent check that was cashed at the location. An investigation was conducted and case outcome pending additional investigation. Forward to detectives for follow up.

Coarsegold Burglary
A deputy was dispatched on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 4:30 p.m. to the 44000 block of Spring Hill Road for a residential burglary. An investigation was conducted and no arrests were made. Case forwarded to mountain detectives for follow up.

Oakhurst Arrest for Restraining Order Violation
A deputy dispatched on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 11:43 p.m. to the 41000 Block of CA-49 regarding a violation of a restraining order. Investigation concluded a male subject was in violation of a criminal protective order and was subsequently arrested. Charges filed with the Madera County District Attorney’s Office.

Bass Lake Burglary
A deputy was dispatched on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 9:19 a.m. to the 39000 block of Road 274 in Bass Lake in regards to a burglary report. Evidence was located; forward to detectives for review.

Raymond Narcotics Report
On Sunday, Aug. 9 at 10:40 a.m. a Park Ranger reported an outdoor marijuana grow at Hensley Lake. A report was generated. It was later discovered that MADNET and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife were already aware of the marijuana grow. Report to be closed and forwarded to MADNET for review.

Oakhurst Coroner’s Report
A deputy was dispatched on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 1:31 p.m. to the 38000 block of Road 422 in regards to a coroners report. Death suspected to be natural. Report taken. Forward case to Chief Deputy coroner for review.

Raymond Vandalism
A deputy was dispatched for telephonic traffic on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 6:26 p.m. regarding vandalism at a residence in the 34000 Block of South Street. Investigation concluded a request for a report for documentation purposes.

Bass Lake Woman Locked Inside Boat Launch Dock
A deputy was dispatched on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 9:29 p.m. to the 54000 Block of Road 432 regarding a female locked inside the boat launch dock. Despite efforts to locate
a responsible party for the boat dock area the deputy was forced to cut a cable securing the chain link gate.
