Sheriff’s Crime Log Through July 30

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, July 24, to Sunday, July 30, 2017:

Coarsegold theft
On Monday, July 24 at 1:48 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a call regarding a theft and vandalism. After several unsuccessful attempts to contact the reporting party by phone, the deputy met with the reporting party at the 50000 block of Road 427. Report was taken of incident.

Oakhurst disturbance at park involving dog, shots fired
On Monday, July 24 at 2:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst Community Park located in the 49000 block of Civic Circle Drive regarding a disturbance. A female reporting party said several subjects were using drugs and was also yelling at her. During the patrol check, a loose pit bull dog attempted to attack the deputies canine partner. Shots were fired at the pit bull and the dog’s owner was cited for the leash law county ordinance. The pit bull was taken by Animal Control.

Coarsegold Coroner’s case
On Monday, July 24 at 5:56 deputies responded to a delayed Coroner’s case with the primary physician stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death. This is a natural death case involving only a Coroner’s referral number.

Oakhurst warrant citation 
On Monday, July 24 at 10:11 p.m. a deputy was on routine patrol in a marked vehicle when the deputy noticed a vehicle in the parking lot of a closed business located within the 40000 block of Junction Drive. A record check revealed the passenger in the vehicle had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. The subject was placed into custody, issued a citation and released from custody. This case has been cleared by arrest.

Bass Lake shots fired and recovered stolen handgun
On Monday, July 24 at 9:52 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 39000 block of Road 274 regarding a shots fired call. Upon arrival it was determined that a firearm was used inside an RV trailer. During the investigation a stolen handgun was recovered from the scene. Two 9 mm bullets and one spent shell casing were located and collected at the scene. Photographs were also taken and the handgun was seized. A report was written and forwarded to the Madera County District Attorneys office for review of charges.

Oakhurst illegal marijuana grow
On Tuesday, July 25 at 7:31 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Allen Road in regards to a possible illegal outdoor marijuana grow. Upon arrival, the reporting party was contacted. Evidence located at the scene indicates that there is most likely a large marijuana grow on private land that borders United States Forest Service land.

North Fork warrant arrest
On Tuesday, July 25 at 8:07 a.m. a warrant arrest was conducted at the 32000 block Mission Drive. Report taken and subject cited for the warrant.

Oakhurst theft
On Tuesday, July 25 at 8:52 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a call at the Oakhurst substation lobby regarding a theft. The reporting party stated that she wanted to recover the stolen items taken by an employee and asked that we accompany her on July 27 to attempt to recover the stolen items from the suspect’s home. A report was taken of incident.

North Fork domestic assault
On Tuesday, July 25 at 8:41 a.m. an aggravated assault / domestic occurred on Willow Creek Drive in North Fork. A report written and case forwarded to Madera County Detectives for follow-up. Charges pending due to an on going investigation.

Oakhurst statutory rape investigation and emergency protective order
On Tuesday, July 25 at 11:32 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation lobby regarding a statutory rape investigation. The victim and parents were contacted and statements were obtained. An emergency protection order was granted, however, the suspect has not been contacted. Report to be forwarded to the detective unit for follow up.

Coarsegold lewd acts in public
On Tuesday, July 25 at 12:42 p.m. a report was made of lewd acts in public in the area of Yosemite Springs Parkway and Corral Drive. During the investigation one female was taken into custody. Case to be forwarded to the DA’s office.

Coarsegold theft of a radio
On Tuesday, July 25 at 11:42 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a theft of a radio. The suspect was contacted and found in possession of the radio. The suspect was arrested and booked for possession of stolen property. Report to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Oakhurst Coroner’s report
On Wednesday, July 26 at 12:08 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Jean Road East regarding a Coroner’s case. An investigation was completed and a report was written. The case was forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office Chief Coroner.

Oakhurst assault
On Wednesday, July 26 at 9:45 a.m. a simple assault occurred at the 49000 block of Civic Circle Drive. A report was written and a subject arrested, and charges were filed at the request of the citizen.

Coarsegold theft/fraud
On Wednesday, July 26 at 1:01 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a report of fraud that occurred in the 33000 block of Robin Hood Drive. A phone report was taken. There were no suspect(s) currently. Report to be closed due to a lack of investigative leads/evidence.

Oakhurst theft
On Wednesday, July 26 at 4:18 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a theft which occurred in the 41000 block of Old Barn Way. Report taken and case closed.

Oakhurst theft
On Wednesday, July 26 at 4:23 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a theft which occurred in the 40000 block of CA-49. Report taken and case closed.

North Fork vandalism to mail boxes
On Wednesday, July 26 at 7:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Ciatana Creek Road and Road 222 regarding vandalism to a cluster of US Mail boxes. A report was taken.

Oakhurst theft
On Thursday, July 27 at 10:44 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding a theft report. Case should be closed due to lack of leads

Coarsegold fraud
On Thursday, July 27 at 10:28 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 33000 Creek Ranch Road regarding a fraud case. The victim advised that someone used her name and drivers license to cash a check out of town. Refer report suspended until further leads develop.

North Fork threats on social media
On Thursday, July 27 at 10:41 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a threats report over social media in the 33000 block of Mission Drive. Close the case due to lack of investigative leads.

North Fork citation
On Thursday, July 27 at 12:27 p.m. a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Road 222 / Millview Mountain Court which resulted in the driver being cited and released. Forward to DA’s Office for charges.

Bass Lake burglary
On Thursday, July 27 at 2:29 p.m. a deputy dispatched to the area of Road 274 / Browns Ditch in regards to a vehicle burglary. A report taken. Close the case due to lack of investigative leads.

Raymond Coroner’s report
On Friday, July 28 at 6:27 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a Coroner’s case located at the block of 34000 Rifle Road. Report taken for documentation. Refer to Chief Deputy Coroner for review.

Coarsegold runaway
On Friday, July 28 at midnight, a deputy was dispatched regarding a runaway juvenile female in the area of 47000 Hopi Avenue. A report was taken and the information entered into the missing underage persons system. Forward to detectives.

Coarsegold theft
On Friday, July 28 at 10:44 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to take a report over the phone regarding a theft that occurred it the 45000 block of Road 200. Case should be closed at this time due to lack of leads.

North Fork cell phone theft from unlocked car
On Friday, July 28 at 11:36 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 33000 Mission Drive regarding theft of a cell phone from an unlocked vehicle. Report taken for documentation. Refer report closed until further leads develop.

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Friday, July 28 at 10:50 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a local business in the area of 40000 CA-49 in regards to an intoxicated subject. The subject was arrested and booked without incident. Forward to DA for charges.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Friday, July 28 at 5:28 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of Road 632 regarding a female who was possibly in need of a mental health evaluation hold. The deputy arrived on scene and, after evaluating the female, the subject was placed on a mental health evaluation hold.

Oakhurst domestic violence
On Friday, July 28 at 6:40 p.m. deputies were dispatched to Road 426 regarding a domestic disturbance. It was determined the male had choked his girlfriend, with whom he lives and has a child with. The male have was arrested and booked on domestic related charges.

Coarsegold driver arrested for failing to register as an arson offender
On Saturday, July 29 at 1:17 a.m. a deputy conducted a vehicle stop on CA-41 and Road 417. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for failing to register in Madera County as an arson offender. The individual was booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections. Case forwarded to the DA’s office for charges.

North Fork danger to self
On Saturday, July 29 at 2:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence at the block of 53000 Timber View Road regarding an elderly female not able to care for herself. She cut her arm on the glass window and it was determined that she was a danger to herself. She was transported to the hospital by EMS for mental health evaluation. Refer report closed.
