Sheriff’s Crime Log Through July 24

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Sunday, July 17 to Sunday, July 24, 2016:

Oakhurst vehicle vandalism
On Sunday, July 17, at 8:23 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Road 415 regarding a vehicle which had been stripped of its car parts. A report was taken, evidence obtained, no arrests made and case was closed.

Oakhurst mailbox vandalism
On Sunday, July 17 at 9:24 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the mailbox cluster located the corner of Sierra lakes Drive and Road 426 regarding a vandalism. A report was taken; case to be closed.

North Fork vehicle tampering
On Sunday, July 17, at 12:49 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to take a phone report of a male who stated someone possibly tampered with the lug nuts to his vehicle. A report was written for documentation.

Ahwahnee overdose
On Sunday, July 17, at 3:26 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to 42000 block of Highway 49 for an overdose. Subject self-committed to St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno. Case number issued in error. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold credit card theft
On Sunday, July 17, at 3:34 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to call the reporting party regarding a theft of some credit cards from a locked vehicle. A report was taken and the case will be closed.

Ahwahnee report of deceased person
On Monday, July 18, at 4:49 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 44000 block of Road 619 for a report of a male that was deceased. The deputy arrived on scene and met with Sierra Ambulance who informed the deputy that a male was deceased. A coroner’s case report was generated and forwarded to Madera County Sheriff Detectives.

North Fork family disturbance
On Monday, July 18, at 6:42 p.m., a deputy responded to the 36000 block of Teaford Poyah regarding a family disturbance. A general incident was reported for documentation purposes. Case closed.

Coarsegold vandalism
On Monday, July 18, at 8:30 p.m., a deputy responded to the 28000 block of Flying O Ranch in regarding a vandalism report. The reporting party reported unknown subject rammed a vehicle into a gate causing major damages. Case pending further leads.

Oakhurst theft from vehicle
On Monday, July 18, at 9:06 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Burger King Restaurant, located within the 40200 block of CA-41 regarding a report of a theft from a vehicle. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Oakhurst stolen property
On Monday, July 18, at 9:46 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to telephone a female regarding a report of a lost or stolen property. The loss occurred at a residence located within the 50900 block of Road 423. This case was written for documentation only and has been closed.

Oakhurst drug arrest
On Tuesday, July 19, at 2:54 a.m., a deputy on routine patrol noticed a vehicle in a parking lot of a closed church, during early morning hours of darkness. Upon consensual contact the driver (arrestee) stated he did not have his driver’s license with him. He further advised he was currently on parole. A record check determined the arrestee had an outstanding felony, no bail warrant for his arrest. Arrestee was placed into custody. During an inventory search of arrestee’s vehicle, prior to towing and storage per the authority of 22651(h) VC, a usable amount of a white crystal substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, was found. Arrestee was transported to the Madera County Jail where he was booked into custody. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

Coarsegold attempted burglary
On Tuesday, July 19, at 8:14 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a residence located in the 47000 block of Modoc Road in regards to a possible attempted burglary. Upon arrival, a statement was obtained from the home owner. It is discovered that a window screen was damaged, however, it was not removed from the exterior window. No physical evidence was located. A report was taken for documentation and a neighbor was informed of the incident. Report to be closed.

Coarsegold elder needing assistance
On Tuesday, July 19, at 7:15 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Road 400 regarding an elderly male who called 911 and was crying. A report was taken, no arrests were made, and the subject voluntarily requested help from Veterans Hospital. Case has been closed. Deputy recommends this report be sent to Madera Adult Protective Services, and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in Oakhurst.

Oakhurst marijuana bust
On Tuesday, July 19, at 9:26 a.m., deputies served a search warrant at a location on Old Yosemite Road and eradicated 183 marijuana plants from the property.

Coarsegold property theft
On Tuesday, July 19, at 10:57 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of Roaring River Court regarding a theft of property. A report was taken, no evidence obtained, property returned to the victim, and case closed.

Oakhurst trespassing
On Tuesday, July 19, at 2:46 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Road 222 in regards to an ongoing trespassing issue on the property. The suspect was also defecating on the victim’s property. The victim informed the deputy that he had walked his entire property, however, he had found no signs of a transient camp. A report was taken and the information regarding this case was turned over to the Mountain Division Problem Oriented Policing Sergeant for follow up.

Coarsegold juvenile arrest
On Tuesday, July 19, at 4:42 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Titan Court regarding a report of a juvenile with a warrant. A report was taken, an arrest made, and the juvenile was taken to Madera County Juvenile Hall.

Coarsegold business theft arrest
On Tuesday, July 19, at 7:06 p.m., a deputy responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a theft suspect being at the business. Through investigation, it was found that several crimes had been committed and the suspect was taken into custody. The case was forwarded to the Madera DA’s Office for prosecution. In addition, the case was assigned to an investigating deputy for further follow up.

Coarsegold domestic violence
On Wednesday, July 20, at 9:14 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Seminole Court regarding a domestic violence incident involving a male and female. The reported male suspect assaulted his wife and 12-year-old daughter during the incident. The suspect left the area prior to the Sheriff’s Department arrival. This report is to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Coarsegold juvenile runaway
On Wednesday, July 20, at 10:19 a.m., a deputy was dispatched in regards to a juvenile male who ran away in the area. A report was taken over the telephone. The juvenile’s information was entered into MUPS, and forward to detectives.

Coarsegold children in protective custody
On Wednesday, July 20, at 10:07 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 36000 block of Comstock to assist Probation and CPS in placing three children into protective custody. An adult male and female were placed in custody by Madera County Probation. The three children were placed on a W&I 300 hold with Madera CPS. Charges will be filed with the District Attorney through the Probation  Department. This report is to be forwarded to Madera County Probation and CPS.

Coarsegold mail theft
On Wednesday, July 20, at 11:43 a.m.a deputy was dispatched for a telephone report regarding theft from a mailbox in the area of Wells Road and Douglas Road. A report was taken, close the case.

Oakhurst unlawful recording
On Wednesday, July 20, at 1:28 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to lobby traffic regarding unlawful recordings. A report was taken and documents seized as evidence. Forward the case to the Madera County District Attorneys Office for review of charges.

Oakhurst altercation arrest
On Wednesday, July 20, at 7:05 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 49000 block of Road 427 for a suspicious activity call. While deputies were investigating the incident, an uncooperative subject approached them and ignored requests and demands to stay away. Deputies attempted to take the subject into custody but the subject refused to comply. An altercation occurred and deputies were eventually able to take subject into custody and complete their investigation. The case will be forwarded to the DA’s Office.

Ahwahnee domestic violence
On Thursday, July 21, at 11:31 a.m., a deputy was dispatched in regards to a telephone report regarding a violation of a domestic violence restraining order. A report taken, and the case forwarded to the Madera County District Attorneys Office for possible charges.

North Fork domestic disturbance
On Thursday, July 21, at 1:13 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 222 in North Fork regarding a domestic disturbance. This report was was taken for documentation. Close case.

Oakhurst found wallet
On Thursday, July 21, at 1:42 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Chevron in Oakhurst in regards to a found wallet. The wallet was seized and booked for safekeeping. Records to send a letter to the address for the owner of the wallet. Close the case.

Coarsegold fraud case
On Thursday, July 21, at 6:34 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Trabuco Road in Coarsegold for a possible fraud. Deputy started an investigation and obtained statements. A case number was generated.

Oakhurst Search & Rescue request
On Thursday, July 21, at 9:15 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst Substation to take a phone call for a possible search and rescue for a male adult subject.

Oakhurst violation of restraining order
Friday, July 22, at 9:15 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to contact a female reporting party by phone who wished to report a violation of a restraining order. The female victim didn’t want to pursue any charges at this time and only wanted this documented. Case is to be closed.

North Fork reported residential burglary
On Friday, July 22, at 11:28 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to a residence located in the 53000 block of Timberview Road for a report of alleged residential burglary. The alleged missing items were found on the property. The reporting party was confused and forgetful. A report was taken for information purpose only. Case closed.

Coarsegold vehicle burglary
On Friday, July 22, at 1:19 p.m., a deputy was dispatched in regards to a vehicle burglary which occurred weeks prior in the 46000 block of Paloma Drive. A report taken. Close the case.

Oakhurst sexual assault investigation
On Friday, July 22, at 2:19 p.m., a detective was contacted by CPS Social Worker who wanted to report a possible sexual assault case which occurred in the Oakhurst area. An investigation was completed and it was determined no crime had taken place. Case Closed.

Bass Lake boating accident
On Friday, July 22, at 4:11 p.m., a boating accident with injuries was reported at Bass Lake.

Oakhurst arrest on no bail warrant
On Friday, July 22, at 7:32 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 for a report of a suspicious male adult riding on a bicycle in the area. The male adult subject was detained and turned over to Yosemite National Park for violation of a no bail bench warrant. The male adult subject was found to be in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia. The case was forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney to pursue the misdemeanor charges.

Coarsegold public health evaluation
On Saturday, July 23, at 1:55 a.m., deputies responded to the 36000 block of Wells Road for a public health evaluation. A case was generated and the case was closed.

North Fork citation on warrant
On Saturday, July 23, at 11:09 p.m., a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop in the area which resulted in the driver being cited on a no bail arrest warrant issued from the federal government. Close the case.

North Fork stop finds outstanding warrants
On Saturday, July 23, at 11:42 a.m., a deputy conducted a routine vehicle stop in the area of Road 222 / Road 226 which resulted in the driver being cited and the vehicle stored. The case will be forwarded to the Madera Traffic Court for infractions. During the same stop, a passenger inside the vehicle was cited for an outstanding arrest warrant. A copy of the citation will be forwarded to the El Dorado Superior Court so the case can be put on calendar. Close the case.

Oakhurst robbery
On Sunday, July 24, at 1:55 a.m., a report was taken for a robbery which occurred in the 50800 block of Road 632. Evidence was collected and two suspects were identified. This case is to remain open for additional investigation.

Raymond domestic violence
On Sunday, July 24, at 12:28 p.m., a citizen turned over a found wallet at Hensley Lake. It was found the owner of the wallet had a misdemeanor warrant out of Fresno County for domestic violence. The subject was located, cited and released on the warrant. Case to be closed, cleared by arrest.

Raymond store theft
On Sunday, July 24, at 1:59 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 600 regarding a male subject who came into a store, put an items down his pants and pushed and shoved a store clerk at a local business and left. A report written, an arrest made, charges filed on the male subject, PCD generated, and case was closed by arrest.

Coarsegold arrest for threats and abuse
On Sunday, July 24, at 7:03 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 417 regarding an out-of-control subject who had been drinking and causing a disturbance. After further investigation, a male subject was arrested for criminal threats and elder abuse. The case will be forwarded to Madera County DA’s office.

Oakhurst juvenile runaway
On Sunday, July 24 at 9:14 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 51000 block of Courtney Lane in regards to a runaway juvenile and a report was taken. The juvenile was entered into MUPS and then removed. The juvenile returned prior to the the report being completed.
