Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Feb. 21

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Sunday, Feb. 14 to Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016:

Oakhurst vandalism
On Sunday, Feb. 14 at 1:03 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a vandalism in the 48000 block of River Park Road. An investigation was completed and it was determined that a suspect threw an object into the window of an apartment kitchen causing the window to shatter. Case closed due to lack of investigative leads and positive identification of suspect from witness.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Sunday, Feb. 14 at 8:50 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of River Park Road regarding a vandalism to a vehicle windshield. Report taken. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold carjacking
On Sunday, Feb. 14 at 1:34 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 27000 block on CA-41 regarding an assault. After further investigation the call for service was found to be a carjacking. Report taken, evidence obtained, arrest made, and case forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s office for charges to be filed.

Coasegold felony warrant arrest
On Sunday, Feb. 14 at 9:54 p.m. deputies performed a traffic stop for a registration violation near the intersection of Highway 41 and Lucky lane. The driver of the vehicle was placed under arrest for having a confirmed felony warrant out of Fresno County. A report was written and closed.

North Fork stolen property arrest
On Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 12:13 a.m. a vehicle stop was conducted in the 33100 block of Road 222. During this investigation a short barrelled shotgun, controlled substances, and stolen property were located. The male driver and female passenger were arrested. All evidence was collected and a report was written. This case is to be forwarded to the DA’s office for charges.

North Fork burglary
On Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 5:22 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 33000 Block of Road 274 regarding an audible alarm. Investigation concluded unknown person(s) forced entry into a locked storage unit. Unknown if any items were taken. No suspect info.

Coarsegold theft
On Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 8:51 a.m. a deputy investigated a theft that occurred in the 46000 block of Lucky Lane. Case to be suspended pending review of video surveillance.

Coarsegold Coroner’s case
On Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 9:44 a.m. deputies received a delayed Coroner’s case with the primary physician stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death. This is a natural death case involving only a Coroner’s referral number.

Oakhurst Coroner’s case
On Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 8:41 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding a coroner’s report. Report taken and case forwarded to the Chief Coroner for review.

Oakhurst theft
On Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 12:22 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a theft of a bicycle from the 40200 block of Highway 41. Report taken. Case to be suspended.

North Fork threat
On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 10:08 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to contact a reporting party by phone regarding a reports of threats that occurred in the 54000 block of Wildwood Springs Trail. No leads, case to be closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 11:08 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to investigate a theft that occurred in the 46000 block of Forest Glenn Road. The stolen item was located at a local business and returned to the victim. Victim did not request a report, however, one was taken for documentation. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst theft
On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 11:42 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 40000 Enterprise Drive regarding an employee who had quit and not returned company equipment. A report was taken for documentation. Refer report closed.

North Fork theft
On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 11:24 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to contact a reporting party/victim by phone regarding a theft that occurred in the area of Central Camp and Road 274. A back pack was reported stolen from the bed of a pickup. This theft is possibly related to a vehicle stop and arrest that occurred in the 33000 block of Road 222 in North Fork. Refer to case# 16-665 regarding related arrest.

Bass Lake theft
On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 12:30 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Beasore Rd. approximately 4 miles north of Road 274 regarding a cold theft of items from several unlocked vehicles. This incident is related to a vehicle stop and arrest that occurred during the previous night shift. Refer to case# 16-655.

Coarsegold identity theft
On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 2:47 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst Substation regarding a subject who wanted to turn in an Id Theft Packet. Report taken for documentation. Refer report closed.

Coarsegold Coroner’s report
On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 2:42 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a coroner’s report. A report was written and forwarded to the Chief Deputy Coroner.

Coarsegold identity theft
On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 3:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst Substation regarding a subject wanted to turn in an ID Theft Packet. A report was taken for documentation. Requesting this report be suspended until further leads develop.

North Fork investigative stop
On Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 11:37 p.m. deputies conducted an investigative vehicle stop on RD 225 near RD 274. A case was generated for documentation, and no arrest were made. Case closed.

North Fork warrant
On Thursday, Feb. 18 at 7:09 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located on the block of 56000 Road 200 regarding a subject who was sleeping on a couch. The female subject had a warrant. She was cited and released. She was also given a ride to a friend’s house in North Fork. Refer report closed.

Coarsegold possible sexual abuse
On Thursday, Feb. 18 at 8:31 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to contact Child Protective Service by phone regarding a report of possible sexual abuse to a female child. Report to be forwarded detectives for investigation.

Oakhurst computer hacked
On Thursday, Feb. 18 at 10:05 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to an address in the 43000 block of W. Sugar Pine Drive in regards to computers being “hacked” into. A report was taken for documentation only. Case to be closed.

Bass Lake warrant
On Thursday, Feb. 18 at 11:32 a.m. a male subject was contacted near Road 222 and Road 274 during an investigation regarding a vandalism to a mailbox. Male was found to have an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Male is cited and released without incident. Case to be closed due to arrest.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Thursday, Feb. 18 at 11:06 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 51000 block of Dorstan Drive in regards to a vandalism report. The suspect is contacted and denies any involvement. There are no independent witnesses to this incident. The victim requests charges be filed with the district attorney’s office.

Oakhurst fraud report
On Thursday, Feb. 18 at 3:09 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to investigate a report of fraud that occurred in the 40000 block of CA-49. A report was generated and further investigation is needed pending contact from the businesses loss prevention department. Case to remain open.

Bass Lake public intoxication
On Thursday, Feb. 18 at 10:48 p.m. a deputy responded to a dispatch call in the 54000 block of Road 432 in Bass Lake regarding an intoxicated subject causing a disturbance at the business. It was determined that the subject was under the influence of alcoholic beverage and unable to care for himself in a public place. The subject was arrested for public intoxication and booked at Madera County DOC.

North Fork theft
On Friday, Feb. 19 at 2:08 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to investigate a theft of motor vehicle parts that occurred in the 33000 block of Road 223. There were no witnesses or suspect(s). No physical evidence was located at the scene. Case suspended due to a lack of investigative leads/ evidence.

Bass Lake assault
On Friday, Feb. 19 at 7:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to 39000 Block of Ledge for a report of an assault. Upon the arrival of the deputy, a statement was obtained from the victim. A Criminal Case File was pulled to document the incident. Per the request of the victim, the case is to be closed pending further contact from the victim regarding charges being filed against the suspect.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Saturday, Feb. 20 at 12:01 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 37000 block of Wortham Road regarding a subject wanting an ambulance because of self inflicted razor cuts to his neck. Ambulance requested. Report taken. Subject sent to Madera Community Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold burglary
On Sunday, Feb. 21 at 2:23 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 417 regarding a burglary in Coarsegold. Report taken, evidence obtained, no arrests made and case closed.
