Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Dec. 17

MADERA COUNTY– Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Dec. 11 to Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017.

Bass Lake found wallet
On Monday, Dec. 11 at 7:42 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 39000 block of Cedar Vista Drive regarding a found wallet. Report written, property obtained and case closed.

North Fork chain saw theft
On Monday, Dec. 11 at 11:24 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 57000 block of Road 225 regarding theft of a chainsaw. Report written and case closed.

Coarsegold burglary
On Monday, Dec. 11 at 10:08 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located in the 33000 block of Jennifer Court in regards to a residential burglary report. A person of interest was named, however, there was insufficient evidence.

North Fork burglary
On Monday, Dec. 11 at 2:44 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 222 regarding a commercial burglary. Report written, evidence obtained and case closed.

Oakhurst family disturbance
On Monday, Dec. 11 at 4:24 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Hartwell Road in regards to a family disturbance. A report was taken for documentation see narrative.

Ahwahnee assault involving a juvenile
On Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of CA-49 in regards to an assault call involving a juvenile. All parties are contacted and a report is written. At this time, prosecution is not desired by the victims parent.

North Fork warrant arrest
On Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 9:42 a.m. a deputy was conducting a follow-up investigation at the 33000 block of Quail Flat Road. During the follow-up a subject contacted was found to have a warrant out of Madera County. Report written, subject was cited on the warrant, and case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst fraud
On Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 1:02 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Junction Drive in regards to a fraud report involving the passing of counterfeit checks. A report was taken. Currently, there are no suspect(s). Case to be forwarded to the detective division for possible follow up.

North Fork brief pursuit of off-road motorcycle
On Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 1:18 p.m. a deputy engaged in the short pursuit of an off-road motorcycle on Road 222. The vehicle drove off the road and the pursuit was terminated. The identity of the rider is unknown.

Oakhurst burglary
On Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 11:38 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 52000 block of Road 426 in regards to a residential burglary report. The scene was processed and a report was taken. A person of interest was named, however, there was not enough evidence currently to file charges.

Coarsegold theft
On Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 12:14 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a theft. Statements were collected and a report was written.

Coarsegold obscene phone call
On Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 11:49 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 33000 block of Road 416 regarding a report of an obscene phone call. A statement was collected and a report was written.

Oakhurst missing juvenile returns home
On Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 5:13 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 40000 block of Alerna Way regarding a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was later entered into the Missing and Unidentified Persons System (MUPS) of NCIC. The juvenile reportedly later returned home and was removed from the MUPS system.

Coarsegold assault
On Thursday, Dec. 14 at 12:12 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 30000 block of CA-41 regarding a report of a disturbance. During the investigation it was reported that an assault occurred at the residence. The suspect had fled the scene prior to deputy’s arrival. A search of the area met with negative results. The victim sustained minor injury and declined any medical attention. This case
has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

Coarsegold found property
On Thursday, Dec. 14 3:12 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Revis Road regarding found property. The reporting party requested contact by telephone. A report was taken.

North Fork vandalism
On Thursday, Dec. 14 1:02 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Douglas Station Road for a report of vandalism. A report was later generated and closed.

North Fork burglary
On Friday, Dec. 15 at 9:15 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 224 in regards to a residential burglary. The deputy interviewed the reporting party and completed a report.

Coarsegold possible health and safety violation
On Saturday, Dec. 16 at 12:55 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane for a report of a health and safety violation. A report was generated and closed at this time.

Bass Lake found handgun returned to owner
On Saturday, Dec. 16 at 10:59 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 54000 block of Road 432 regarding a found handgun. The handgun was subsequently later turned over to its owner. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Sunday, Dec. 17 a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of CA-41 in regards to a burglar alarm. A subject found on scene was discovered to have warrants. Subject was arrested and booked. A credit card was booked for safe keeping and a report was written.

Oakhurst theft
On Sunday, Dec. 17 at 7:27 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-49, at Raley’s Supermarket, regarding a suspicious subject. Upon arrival the deputy learned the subject stole items and left to the area of Taco Bell. Upon arrival to Taco Bell the described subject was located and upon contact took “leg bail” from the deputy. A short foot pursuit ensued and the subject was captured. He was transported and
booked into Madera County Department of Corrections for related charges.

Oakhurst theft of chainsaws
On Sunday, Dec. 17 at 8:49 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 in regards to a theft report. The reporting party said two chainsaws were stolen from the parking lot. Report taken.
