Sheriff Seeks Public's Help In Locating Burglary Suspects

MADERA COUNTY – Sheriff John Anderson credits a TV viewer for providing the identity of a man wanted in connection with a residential burglary in the Madera Ranchos.

34-year old Madera resident, Anthony Garcia, who also goes by the name David Garcia, has been identified as the subject captured on surveillance video during a 4-day shopping spree, using credit and debit cards that belong to his victim.A female seen with Garcia has not yet been identified. At this hour both are still at large.

The Sheriff’s Office is releasing Garcia’s 2007 booking photo. “Now that we know who he is, we are turning to the public again for assistance in locating him,” says Sheriff Anderson. “We also need to find out the name of the female seen with him.”

2001 Jeep Grand CherokeeGarcia and an unidentified female were both captured on surveillance tape. They were also caught on tape getting into a 2001 grayish/silver Jeep Grand Cherokee, similar to the one in the attached photo.

Anyone who knows Garcia’s whereabouts, as well as the identity of the female, is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 559-675-7770. The public can also phone in anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 559-498-STOP.
