MARIPOSA – The community is invited to join Sheriff Doug Binnewies for a lunchtime 15-minute 9-11 remembrance ceremony at the Mariposa County 9-11 Memorial Site at the Arts Park, on Friday, Sept. 11.
The event will start at 12:15 p.m. with a welcome from Sheriff Binnewies, followed by an Invocation delivered by the Sheriff Chaplain. The Honor Guard will then raise the new flag, followed by the Fire Bell Ceremony.
Sheriff Binnewies will also be speaking at the 9/11 “Honor our Fallen Heroes” with VFW Post 9454 and Auxiliary at 7 p.m. in the Coulterville Park. There will be a Candlelight Walk down Main Street, followed by ice cream and cupcakes. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come out and honor our Fallen Heroes.
