OAKHURST — We are receiving updated information from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office concerning the active search for two suspects following a reported bank robbery this afternoon.

At about 4:30 p.m., Madera County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Central Valley Community Bank on Highway 41 in Oakhurst for a reported robbery.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, one white male adult entered the bank and passed an employee a note, while a second male suspect remained in the white Toyota Tacoma in the parking lot.

The robbery suspect was described as a male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue beanie and dark sunglasses.

“We are still in the initial stages of the investigation,” says Commander Tyson Pogue, “but ask the public to call us if they have any information at 559-675-7770.”

The pickup was described as a 4-door with darkly tinted windows, no tailgate, a chrome bumper and a tow hitch.

No one was injured in the incident, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
