Search Continues As YUSD Interim Superintendent Resigns

OAKHURST — At a special meeting on Tuesday, May 2, the Yosemite Unified School District (YUSD) Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Interim Superintendent Leonard Kahn effective June 30.

The meeting took place at the YUSD offices and was chaired by Board clerk Tammy Loveland, with trustees Monika Moulin and Joe Smith in attendance.

The vote to accept Kahn’s resignation was 3 – 0 in favor. Trustees Christine Wilder and John Reynolds were unable to be in attendance.

Kahn joined the YUSD as Chief Business Officer in 2015, working closely with previous District Superintendent James Sargent in a variety of key areas. Kahn stepped into the interim position in fall of 2016.

Members of the Board, upon accepting Kahn’s resignation, expressed appreciation for his service to the YUSD community, its staff and students.

The board held interviews on Apr. 21 and 22 to identify a candidate to fill the Superintendent position going forward.
