AHWAHNEE – Looking for a reason to tee up with friends? Members of the Oakhurst Sierra Sunrise Rotary invite golfers and others to the 24th Annual Rick Murphy Memorial Golf Tournament, on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Sierra Meadows Golf Course.
The Rick Murphy Memorial Golf Tournament is named in honor of the golf devotee and long-time Oakhurst Sierra Sunrise Rotarian.
“The money raised at the event will be used by the Club to address today’s challenges both locally and internationally,” say organizers.
“Locally, we support many different causes, such as providing scholarships to graduating Yosemite High School students, funding senior medical transportation, feeding the hungry, and upgrading and maintaining the Oakhurst Community Center.”
Rotarians also sponsor student of the month, the Boys & Girls Club, and Children’s Museum of the Sierra, along with other local charities.
$100 per person registration for the tourney buys 18 holes of golf at Sierra Meadows, Breakfast/Eye Opener, lunch, goodie bag, contests, drinks, and dinner prepared by Rotarians.
Registration and breakfast start at 8 a.m. and tee off is at 9:30 a.m. Happy hour with hors d’oeuvres at 2:30 p.m., a live auction and raffle go on at 3:30 p.m., and dinner service begins at 4:30 p.m.
