MOUNTAIN AREA — Yosemite Area Regional Transportation (YARTS) is celebrating Earth Day by offering free rides on YARTS buses into Yosemite National Park.
In 2015, the Park experienced an all-time record number of visitors, welcoming 4,150,217 people.
“At YARTS, we want to do our part to help visitors be good stewards of the park and enhance their Yosemite experience by encouraging them to take public transportation,” says Staff Analyist Cindy Kelly.
Below you will find agendas for the two free YARTS Express buses to Yosemite on Earth Day, April 23. Both Highways 140 (from Merced, Mariposa) and 41 (from Fresno, Oakhurst) are included. There is no admission fee for the park when riding YARTS.
YARTS will begin accepting reservations beginning on Apr. 4 with a cut-off date of Apr. 19, or until the buses have been filled, whichever comes first. All reservations must be made via email and are accepted on a first come, first served basis. They must be for same day round-trip passengers. All regularly scheduled YARTS bus runs will operate as normal, with the exception that all children, ages 16 and under, ride FREE on ANY YARTS bus ALL DAY.

Passengers must take same bus back to Fresno that they took to Yosemite (either bus 1 or 2)
All other runs will run at normal times/fares, except all children 16 and under ride FREE on ANY YARTS bus on Apr. 23 for Earth Day.
