MARIPOSA COUNTY — Residents in the area are being allowed to return to their homes this evening.
The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office has release these updates on conditions in the fire area:
ADDITIONAL EVACUATION ORDERS LIFTED
Evacuation orders for the following areas will be lifted for residents only on Saturday, July 22, at 6 p.m. These areas will still remain under advisory. Evacuation Advisory- Issued alert to media and public of potential evacuation orders.
- Old Hwy from Hwy 49 South to Totokon Rd and all side roads
- Old Hwy from Guadalupe Fire Rd to Hwy 140 (Catheys Valley)- Guadalupe Fire Rd will remain under an evacuation order
- Bear Valley Rd
- Hunters Valley Rd
- Hunters Valley Mt. Access Rd
- Detwiler Rd
- Cotton Creek Rd
All other evacuation orders remain in effect.
The following roads will remain closed in the above lifted areas:
- All side roads on Hwy 140 –Closed with the exception of Elizabeth Ln, Trower Roads
- Old Hwy- Closed from Totokon to Guadalupe Fire Rd and all side roads in between
- Hwy 49N- Closed from the top of Bagby Grade to Oakridge Rd (Coulterville)
General Information
PG&E is working to restore electric service safely and as quickly as possible. We are still working in an active fire area and are reminding our customers that if they see electrical wires on the ground to stay clear and immediately contact PG&E.
If you are using a generator please make sure they are installed safely by a qualified professional and notify PG&E. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid injuring someone or damaging your generator or appliances. Never plug a generator directly into any electric outlets.
Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office and Allied Agencies will have a heavy presence in the area to ensure the security and safety of resident and businesses. Due to the large amount of emergency equipment in the area, speed control will also be enforced.
There will still be smoke in the respective areas as firefighters continue firefighting operations. If at anytime you feel unsafe, please call 911.

SAFETY MESSAGE – The public is reminded to stay vigilant on current fire conditions. Please continue to adhere to road closures and any evacuation warnings. If you see electrical wires on the ground, stay clear and contact PG&E immediately. Trees and poles with deep charring, particularly if still smoking, should be considered hazardous.
Please drive slowly and yield to emergency personnel in the area. As you re-enter your property and evaluate damage, be aware that hazardous conditions may exist, particularly if a residence or out-building has burned. Hazards may include asbestos, heavy metals, by-products of plastic combustion and various other chemicals.
Beginning today, Free Food Waste Disposal services will be offered at Highway 140 and Bullion Street behind the Chamber of Commerce. The hours offered of operations will be 9 a.m. thru 3 p.m. every day but Sunday.
Solid Waste Facility
The Solid Waste Facility will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day except Sunday.
