Summer Finale For (Not Just) Jazz On The Lake

BASS LAKE — (Not Just) Jazz on the Lake concerts are bringing the crowds to Bass Lake on each first and third Fridays of the Summer, and there is just one concert left this season.

The first (Not Just) Jazz on the Lake event of the month took place on July 1, as a kick off to a busy holiday weekend and Independence Day celebration at Bass Lake. Like the other concerts, it was met with a large crowd, with tickets selling out hours before the doors opened. True to this year’s addition to the event’s old title, guests enjoyed a performance by I Want My 80’s Band rather than a jazz group.

On July 15, the event featured music by Electric Grease and marked the halfway point of the 2016 Concert Season. On Aug. 5, guests enjoyed a performance by AC Myles, and on Aug. 19, it was the RAW War tribute band.

The final event of the summer will be held on Sept. 2, with a finale performance by NiteFlite. Tickets for each of the events are available online now.

The Jazz on the Lake events are popular for locals and visitors alike. Mark Choe said of these relaxing evenings, “The Jazz on the Lake events are a unique experience enjoyed by both guests that have traveled far to come to Bass Lake as well as many locals. The music, food and dancing are a good fun for people from all walks of life.”

As the sun sets on the lake, the cooler temperatures make for a great atmosphere for enjoying the music outdoors. At the end of a long day of hiking in Yosemite, water sports on Bass Lake, or just relaxing at the pool, the event makes for a perfect finale.

With water levels higher than they have been in years, more lake-visitors are bringing or renting boats to enjoy the gentle waters, and choosing to listen to the music from the comfort of their crafts.

Jazz on the Lake and similar events held on the lakeside deck have been going on since The Pines Resort was first founded, which means that generations of families have enjoyed a similar scene, though the music has changed considerably over the years.

The family-friendly atmosphere means that kids and adults alike can enjoy the evening, whether they choose to dance to the tunes or just relax and watch the sunset and enjoy a tasty meal.

Ticket options for all of the Jazz on the Lake events include both private or shared tables, with individual seats going for $5 (plus a processing fee) online or $10 at the door if seats are still available the evening of the event. The tables are located on our deck, allowing guests to enjoy picture-perfect views of the lake and the setting sun while they relax or
dance the evening away.

A special menu is designed for each event, with past options including prime rib, Ahi tuna wraps, cheese and meat plates, and more. If you haven’t had a chance to catch one of The Pine Resort’s Jazz on the Lake events yet this summer, you still have some time.
